Pulling together the biblical sound and isolation of the bygone days of revelation with an atmosphere filled with hope and salvation, King Dude has woven his own brand of American music. He brandishes many varied influences in his songwriting. Everything from British Folk, Americana, Country and Blues can be heard in his songs. Even the heavier sounds of Heavy Metal tend to sneak and slither it's way into the King Dude canon. The resulting songs are much more of a modern day hymn then average pop song.

It’s difficult to fully interpret the lyrics of King Dude’s “Fear is All You Know” because the song is purposefully enigmatic. However, the distressing lyrics appear to describe the frustration and loneliness experienced by a person who cannot seem to connect with others on a deep emotional level. The first lines, “I won’t get you until the moon / And I like a lot,” suggest that the singer is attracted to someone but cannot seem to bridge the gap between them. The singer implores the listener to “probably come with me,” hinting at a desperate desire for companionship. However, the next line, “Be my … and all,” is incomplete, perhaps indicating the singer is unsure what they’re asking for.
As the song progresses, the singer speaks of their own struggles to connect with people. The singer seems to be grappling with difficult emotions, describing how their feelings “on the blow,” implying that they are erratic and hard to control. They express their fear of being hurt, saying, “Don't hurt me like a ….” The phrase is cut off and left ambiguous. Later, the singer observes “how she popping all the time” and notes, “I got it inside,” which could refer to feelings of jealousy or resentment. Ultimately, the song leaves the listener with a sense of profound sadness, showcasing the intense loneliness that can accompany the inability to connect with others.
