No screens but sunscreen, sun tans and bikinis

Eh, growing up we didn't have it all
As we grew up, we didn't have many luxuries

I used to jump the fence and play some basketball
I would jump over fences to play basketball

Instead of sending Tweets, I used to send a call
Rather than send tweets and social media messages, I would make phone calls

Instead of Ubering, I used to walk up to the mall
Instead of using Uber, I would walk to the mall

Like, "Hey, hi", get it from security
I would say hello and ask security for permission

We enjoyed the freedom of not worrying about the future

But man, it's just the way it went
But that's just how life was

Some of the best years I ever spent
Those years were some of the best I had

Going halves on a box
Paying half the cost of something

Like it actually mattered, I could barely take a shot
We acted like it mattered, even though we weren't good at it

All that really mattered was the company I got
What mattered was being with my friends

And everything else was just a hand inside the clock
Everything else did not matter as much

Now getting insta-famous for a Like is not a shock
It's no longer surprising that people are becoming famous for their online presence

Snapchat strangers for a boost is all you got
Interacting with strangers on Snapchat is the only way to gain popularity

It's funny when the times changed
It's amusing how times have changed

But for some of us it never changed
Despite the changes, some of us have remained the same
