Kings Lyrics

My goal is to make late night cruising music
That reflects the moments and memories of growing up in the city
This city and I, didn't always have a good relationship
and I'm sure a lot of people can relate to that
But as I've gotten older I've learned to appreciate the blessings I was given
I think a lot of artists chase recognition, status, and other things to fill a void inside
But the key to enjoy making art, is to ultimately do it for yourself
I think the journey alone is worth the experience
Even if you never make it to the final destination
For me it's just about making good vibes
New sounds and new aesthetics, that's what I'm in it for
In the opening lines of the song "Intro" by Kings, the lyrics express the artist's sincere passion and dedication to creating music purely out of love for the art form. The artist emphasizes that this drive is motivated by a desire to produce music that is suited for late-night cruising, capturing the essence and sentiments of growing up in the city. Through this music, the artist aims to encapsulate the poignant moments and memories that resonate with urban life experiences.
The lyrics delve into the complex relationship between the artist and the city, acknowledging that it hasn't always been a positive one. This sentiment reflects a common sentiment shared by many individuals who have navigated the challenges and adversities of urban environments. However, as the artist has matured, there has been a shift in perspective, leading to a newfound appreciation for the city and the blessings that have come their way. This transformative journey of growth and reflection serves as a universal theme that resonates with listeners who may have experienced similar sentiments of growth and gratitude over time.
The artist acknowledges the common narrative in the music industry where artists often chase external validations such as recognition and status in a bid to fill an internal void. However, the lyrics propose an alternative approach, suggesting that true fulfillment in creating art lies in doing it primarily for oneself. This introspective realization highlights the significance of personal satisfaction and artistic integrity, urging individuals to pursue their dreams for the inherent joy of the creative process rather than external accolades.
In the concluding lines of the song, the artist imparts an encouraging message to the audience, urging them to embark on their own journeys and pursue their aspirations regardless of the end destination. The lyrics underscore the value of the creative expedition itself, emphasizing that the experiences gained along the way are equally as enriching as reaching the final goal. The artist's ultimate goal is to craft music that emanates positive vibes and introduces fresh sounds and aesthetics to the listener—a testament to their commitment to artistic innovation and authenticity in the music industry.
