I make em question their whole vibe
Always question if I feel right
Insecure they just ask why
Why they be into flaunting
Not really into talking
They just little pup yuh
And I don’t like to bark yuh
Power up their false hope
Ain’t really down ten toes
A young king never posture
Plain white t and joggers
Honest I can’t stop this if I wanted
Listen to my intuition my addiction
I always tell you how I feel
Always keep it
Afraid just like the rest of em
Still don’t let them demons get the best of him
Find me dancing in the rain
No regrets yeah homie that’s the basics
No regrets yeah homie that’s the
You know something don’t feel right
I make em question their whole vibe
Always question if I feel right
Insecure they just ask why
Why they be into flaunting
Not really into talking
They just little pup yuh
And I don’t like to bark yuh
Barely in control
Power up their false hope
Ain’t really down ten toes
When I walk in the room
All I hear is them pretty white lies
Can’t look in my eyes hey
I know who I be
At least in the mirror I can see I feel free
If they doubt we gone see
If they doubt we gone see we gone see
If they doubt we gone see we gone see yeah
If they doubt we gone see we gone see
In the lyrics of King's song "Young King," the singer opens up about feeling a sense of discomfort and unease in certain situations. He describes how he often makes others question their own vibes when he enters a space, causing them to doubt themselves. The artist implies that he is not one to conform to societal expectations or flaunt material possessions, instead preferring genuine conversations over superficial displays of wealth or status. By referring to others as "little pup" and expressing a dislike for barking, he conveys a sense of maturity and self-assurance.
The artist continues to assert his authenticity and independence by stating that he is not one to conform to false hope or pretend to be in control when he is not. He emphasizes the importance of staying true to oneself and listening to one's intuition, even when faced with uncertainty or fear. This resilience is further highlighted by his willingness to express his emotions openly and confront his insecurities, rather than letting them consume him. The repetition of questioning if he feels right suggests a constant self-evaluation and a refusal to succumb to external pressures or expectations.
As the song progresses, the artist reflects on the way others perceive him, acknowledging that some may resort to telling lies or avoiding eye contact when around him. Despite this, he maintains a strong sense of self-awareness and confidence, recognizing his own worth and refusing to be swayed by deceit or doubt. By finding solace and freedom in his reflection in the mirror, he emphasizes his commitment to staying true to himself and not allowing others' opinions or judgments to dictate his sense of self-worth.
In the final lines of the song, the artist asserts his resilience and determination to overcome any obstacles or challenges that come his way. He embraces the idea of dancing in the rain, symbolizing a willingness to find joy and beauty in difficult circumstances. By affirming that he has no regrets and that he remains steadfast in his beliefs and values, the artist conveys a message of empowerment and self-acceptance. Overall, "Young King" serves as a powerful anthem of self-assurance, resilience, and individuality in the face of adversity.
