Both originally from England, however Julius Waters spent many of his teenage years in Australia. Julius grew up in the affluent area of Barnes, in London, his parents being next door neighbours and friends of Brian May from the band Queen.

- * In 2000 Kinobe released their debut album Soundphiles to critical acclaim; the track 'Slip Into Something More Comfortable' brought the duo to a wide audience through its use in a major TV advertising campaign, and saw the group hailed as new pioneers of the rapidly expanding 'chill-out' genre. Despite this, Kinobe weren't particularly happy about being pigeon-holed, along with many others, simply as 'chill-out' artists.
- * 2001 saw the release of Verse Bridge Chorus? The very title questioning the sometimes unusual structure of Kinobe's songs. Verse Bridge Chorus provided a more varied and experimental sound than that of the debut, which alienated some fans but attracted others.
- * In 2004 Kinobe released Wide Open. Recorded and produced in the French countryside as a result of the duo's frustration about the current state of the music industry and bleak London town, it proved to showcase the more upbeat side of Kinobe, with a distinct French influence on certain tracks.

The actual albums ( 3 in total) are BRILLIANT. Paid for each, $30 double CD sets, still feel like I ripped them off! (The album is even made to flow from track to track!) What album? OPEN SPACE The Classic Chillout Album Volume [X] (1,2 and 3)! So sad they stopped! (Albums are between 2000 and 2007.)

I was on a small-boat Nile River cruise when I heard this for the first time. It was a warm day and we were just lazily going down the river taking in the scenery in an area which probably hadn't changed much in 2,000 years (between Esna and Kom Umbu). Locals were fishing and youngsters were playing on the riverbank. I know this has a tropical feel to most folks, but I can picture the river in my mind when I hear this.

When I was a toddler id heard this for the first time. Then when I was young (11 through till 13) I used to listen to it on classic fm before it got taken off air. This song amongst others were proving hard to find! Thank god for Fox’s biscuits😂

Thank you! I’m a bit older than most here and knew it was a sample from something I had heard in the 1960s but had no idea from where. It’s amazing how music is stacked since sampling became so popular. The sampler becomes more popular than the original music and artist. That’s ok but people should be made aware when there was all this work and artistry put into the original.

Such a similar experience. Heard this first day in the Maldives while waiting for a seaplane. When I got home I tried to document the whole holiday and searched for pictures of everything I'd seen on the internet. with a mile, the best chill-out music EVER. i mean, these guys take a sample from an old song and take it oh so much further. i'm pretty sure that the arranger guy of the Humperdinck song will feel pretty much humiliated...and proud when he will hear what these guys have done with his idea. sexy beat, bass, guitar, everything, it WORKS. I have been trying to find this tune for years too!! Back in 2006 I remember I used to spend hours sitting in Nero's, drinking coffee, reading the Wheel of Time series and people watching with the most awesome playlist in the background. This was a part of it, though I would really love to find the rest. No idea what album it was (if it was). So chilling. Really takes me back to the moment. Never did finish those books though....

Used to take HARDCORE mind altering drugs with my friends when we were in high school, we would put this track on, close our eyes, and be transported.
