In Konshens’ song “Ease,” he expresses his pride in his hard work and independence, and how some people resent him for it. He is aware that he is not dependent on anyone, yet he is still confident and secure within himself. Konshens also seems to reference his belief in fate or divine providence, as he implies that no matter what negative energy is directed towards him, he will ultimately succeed because there are bigger forces at play.
Konshens also addresses the issue of jealousy and "badmind" (meaning envy) from other people. He acknowledges how his success can make some people resentful of him, but rather than allowing their negativity to bring him down, he remains focused and steadfast.
The chorus is a reminder that Konshens and his crew can handle anything that comes their way with ease, cool like the ocean breeze. They are confident in their ability to navigate the obstacles of the music business and life in general.
Overall, “Ease” is a song that celebrates self-sufficiency, hard work, and resilience in the face of adversity.
