The group was formed in January 1996 and broke up in 1999 due to conflicts between the two singers. They released one CD (Korea Girl, 1997; rereleased in 1999 with additional bonus tracks) and one 7" (Reunion, 1998) on Asian Man Records, and also appear on various Asian Man compilation CDs as well as a video/DVD.
Korea Girl's music was generally melodic and understated, featuring both male and female vocals and using clean (undistorted) guitars in the manner of such earlier indie rock groups as Blake Babies.

The song "Reunion" by Korea Girl is a reflection on the complexities of high school reunions. Hey all I am the former drummer of this band, the drummer you see in the video is not me, he was my replacement, but the drums you hear on the track are me. The band was magic musically,but personalities clashed. The Cd can be found on cd now, but it's really not that great sound wise...it's more of a polished turd
