Korn Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
All your faces I can see
You all think it's about me
I'm about to break, this is my fate
Am I still damned to a life
Of misery and hate?
You will never know
What you are
Help me through
I'd do it for you
I could have, never lived
If it wasn't, for you
The lyrics of Korn's song 4U revolve around the idea of feeling trapped in a life of misery and hate, but finding solace in the idea of being able to do something meaningful for someone else. The first verse speaks about the misconception that people have about the singer's life, with everyone thinking it is all about him. The second verse questions whether he will ever be free from his misery and hate, wondering if this is his fate.
The chorus of the song talks about the singer’s devotion to someone he cares about, and how he would do anything for them. He feels that this person has brought him out of his darkness, and he is grateful for their presence in his life. The lyrics then end with the powerful statement that he would never have been able to live without this person in his life.
Overall, the song is a heartfelt tribute to someone who has helped the singer through a difficult time in their life. It speaks to the idea that even though we may feel trapped in our own pain, reaching out to help someone else can often bring us out of our own darkness and into the light.
