Kill Mercy Within
Korn Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Expendable, we are not really real
A mirage of solitude is what they try to heal and
I will not be made to
Feel we are sealed in a fake charade
Spewing bile atrocities
Bringing existence to its knees
I will kill mercy within
Immersed in this hypnotic spell
Influenced by the hate that swells
I'm not terrified anymore
There's nothing left but open sores
Disengaged
Relinquish the reality, I've known
I'm feeling like I'm alienated from my own and
I will not be made to
Feel we are sealed in a fake charade
Spewing bile atrocities
Bringing existence to its knees
I will manifest my sins and
I will kill mercy within
Immersed in this hypnotic spell
Influenced by the hate that swells
I'm not terrified anymore
There's nothing left but open sores
Spewing bile atrocities
Bringing existence to its knees
I will manifest my sins and
I will kill mercy within
Immersed in this hypnotic spell
Influenced by the hate that swells
I'm not terrified anymore
There's nothing left but open sores
There's nothing left but open sores
The lyrics to Korn's song Kill Mercy Within deal with themes of disillusionment, disconnection, and a rejection of the false narratives that society perpetuates. The line "Expendable, we are not really real" speaks to a feeling of disposable and meaningless existence. This is further emphasized in the line "A mirage of solitude is what they try to heal," suggesting that society offers us a false sense of comfort or solace in our isolation.
The chorus speaks to a desire to break free from this illusion and to reject societal norms that lead to apathy and cruelty. The lines "I will manifest my sins and I will kill mercy within" suggest a willingness to embrace one's darker impulses and to confront the world with a new kind of honesty.
The significance of the song's title is also worth noting. "Kill Mercy Within" can be read as a call to reject the idea of mercy as something that ultimately holds us back. Instead of constantly trying to be forgiving or accommodating, the song suggests that we should embrace our anger and frustration as a source of power and motivation.
Overall, the lyrics to Kill Mercy Within are dark and intense, but they also offer a sense of hope and liberation for those who feel trapped by societal expectations.
