Krizz Kaliko began his musical career in the late 1990s when he began working with a local producer by the name of IcyRoc Kraven. Another local rapper by the name of Tech N9ne was also collaborating with IcyRoc at the time, which led to the two rappers meeting. Tech N9ne was currently working on a song titled "Who You Came To See" and Krizz made a comment that the song could have a better hook. Tech offered up the opportunity to prove his case, and Tech was blown away when Kaliko proved just that. Tech would bring Kaliko into his "inner circle" which would eventually result in Kaliko signing to the label co-owned by his new found friend.
Since then, Kaliko has often contributed to albums put out by Tech N9ne, be it being featured as a rapper or simply providing background vocals for the tracks on the album. Although the largest portion of his work is that of his collaborations with Tech, he has also performed similar tasks for fellow labelmates Kutt Calhoun, Skatterman & Snug Brim, and Prozak. Other collaborations include tracks with the Kottonmouth Kings, Potluck, E-40, and Twiztid.
His debut album, Vitiligo released in May 6, 2008, charted on several Billboard charts including peaking at number 19 on the Top Independent Albums in the week of May 28, 2008. In the same week, he peaked at number 167 on the Billboard 200.
His second studio album, Genius, was released on July 14, 2009.
Krizz has chosen the title Shock Treatment for his third studio album. Other titles he considered were "Son of Sam" and "Walk on Water."
Krizz Kaliko is married and has a son, both are mentioned in his music.
He also suffers from the disease, Vitiligo, a skin disorder characterized by smooth, white patches on various parts of the body caused by the loss of natural pigment. Several of these patches are clearly visible on his face. He would later use the name of the disease he suffers from as the title for his debut album. Krizz has also been diagnosed with Bipolar disorder. On his second album, he titled one of the tracks after the disorder.

Who am I to deny 'em? So I think I′ll try 'em
And some of these girlies is cuties too
And some of these cuties look just like you
But there's some I do and some I don′t
If I have me a few, she′s what I want
And my eyes can't see what′s wrong
I take another couple shots and we gone
Beer goggles got me getting at her
Maybe it's the liquor that made me get at her
If I have one more cup
I′m a try to come see what's up (What′s up?) (Alright!)
Beer goggles got me getting at her
Maybe it's the liquor that made me get at her
If I take one more sip
Baby, guess who you're goin′ with (Kali Baby!)
Ooh, ugly, yeah, she′s lookin' ugly
Before you take a drink
Pop that bubbly, she′ll be lookin' lovely
′Fore you can even blink
Sprite, lemon, and a couple women
Add a little Hennessey
You might not be the right one
But tonight, baby, you can pretend to be
Slizzur, slizzur, must been a mix-up, mix-up
How did we get twisted? Shit, last night you was cold as blizzard, blizzard
Not as cold as my shoulder, woke up and looked over, whoa!
Um, the cold rum mixed with Coke somehow set me up with a fe-fi-fo-fum
The beer goggles turned you into a fierce model
From a deer with no eyes, I-have-no-idea model, tears
What have I done? What if in 9 months...
I can't think that into existence, I′m a leave here and never mention... anything.
The song Beer Googles by Krizz Kaliko is about a man who is experiencing the effects of alcohol and how it changes the way he perceives women. The lyrics suggest that while sober he may not be interested in certain women because of their appearance, but under the influence of alcohol, he becomes attracted to them. The term "beer goggles" refers to the phenomenon where alcohol consumption can distort one's judgment and perception, leading to intoxication-induced attraction or affection.
The lyrics are a reflection of the social norm that drinking is acceptable and alcohol can loosen inhibitions, making people more approachable. However, it also highlights the potential consequences of engaging in activities under the influence of alcohol and its impact on one's judgment. Through the lyrics, Krizz Kaliko is reminding listeners to be mindful of the effects of alcohol and the choices they make.
The chorus of the song repeats the phrase "beer goggles got me getting at her," which emphasizes the theme and acts as a reminder for the listener of the potential consequences of drinking under the influence of alcohol.
