What We Leave Behind
Labrinth Lyrics

What we leave behind is something we try to get right
It didn't go the way we planned
What we leave behind is something beautiful
Maybe too beautiful to ever last
What we take with us is love, love, love
What we take with us is love, love, love
Think of us, love, love, love
What we leave behind is something we were blessed to find
Something we won't find again
What we leave behind is something we were glad we had
Even if it had to end
After the ending, never regretting
Never forgetting, what we had between us
And when it's over, it's never over
Cause of those moments, never really leave us
What we leave behind I hope someday will make you smile
After all the tears have dried
What we leave behind is something we know will be
Some of the best times of our lives
What we take with us, what we take with us
What we take with us is love, love, love
What we take with us is love, love, love
We take the good, and that's good enough
Think of us, love, love, love
In Labrinth's song "What We Leave Behind," he reflects on the transient nature of life and how everything is impermanent. The first stanza speaks about the beauty in what we leave behind, despite it not going the way we had planned. He could be referring to good experiences or relationships that end too soon. He says that what we leave behind is something beautiful, maybe too beautiful to ever last. This could mean that sometimes the best moments of our lives are fleeting, and we must cherish them while they last.
In the second stanza, Labrinth talks about what we take with us when we leave. He says that it is love, love, love. Love is something that transcends time, and we always carry it with us. Regardless of what happens, we have the memories of love, and that is good enough. He urges the listeners to think of us, love, love, love, which is a reminder to hold onto the memories of those who have left us.
In the final stanza, Labrinth reflects on what we leave behind and hopes that someday it will make us smile. He acknowledges that after all the tears have dried up, what we leave behind will be some of the best times of our lives. The song's overall message is that everything is impermanent, and all we have is the love that we share with each other. It is, therefore, essential to cherish the moments we have while we have them because they may not last forever.
