First: This artist has produced dance music (happy electronica) with female vocalists.
Second: A rock band from Saarland, Germany.
Third: A rock band from South Korea.
Lacuna formed in late 1999 and have gone on to establish themselves as mainstays of the german underground rock scene with two ep's and an album in 2003 through independent label meisterbetrieb. the band have received widespread critical acclaim and proved themselves one of the most exciting live acts in germany with a relentless touring schedule. "they provoke comparisons with the incredible system of a down. their perfectly realised sound easily builds a bridge between classic rock and intense noise" - visions magazine (the german equivalent of q)
"and the frog says…" is the band's debut release in the uk - and spans and compiles a selection of tracks to date by lacuna on one album. from the muscle of opening track "communication" to the intense desert rock of valvoline. from the beautifully epic "start stopping stop starting" to the head fuck album ending of "post scriptum". from the 7 minute brutal "butterfly dancer" to the trippy "discovered on birthday", this is an album of compelling, emotive, cleverly crafted rock music. thunderous multi time change bass and drums are overlaid with weighty guitars and the uniquely powerful rock vocals of singer/guitarist marko bach. but, what the band do best is draw on the best aspects of rock and metal without ever forgetting the importance of a good tune.
whilst some of the bands influences are clear - kyuss, tool, helmet - their obvious song writing ability also draws on the likes of qotsa and the who. the album was produced by guido lucas - who has worked with german bands such as blackmail, harmful (recorded with dave sardy - slayer, soad, helmet, marilyn manson) and sun.
with the current rock scene dominated by the continent - whether that be him (finland), hives (sweden), minus (iceland) - it's germany's time. lacuna will be touring the uk in early 2005…

The lyrics to Lacuna's "One Sided Love" describe a love that is not reciprocated. The opening lines "불꽃이 하늘에 피어나고 우린 아주 오랜 꿈에서 깨어나" (The sparks bloom in the sky and we wake up from a long dream) suggest that the singer has had feelings for someone for a long time, but is now coming to terms with the fact that the love is one-sided. The following lines "지나고 나면 알 수 있겠지 아무것도 알 수 없었단 걸" (We will understand after it passes, that we didn't know anything) underscore this realization, that the singer knows now that their love was never truly returned.

The final lines "매일 밤 깨어날 너와 나의 꿈들 언젠가 사라질 너와 나의 세상 내일 밤 깨어날 너와 나의 꿈들 언젠가 살아질 너와 나의 세상" (The dreams that you and I wake up to every night will someday disappear, our world will someday come to life tomorrow night, the dreams that you and I wake up to every night will someday come to life, our world will someday come back to life) suggest that the singer hopes for a future where their love can be reciprocated.
Overall, the lyrics paint a picture of unrequited love, with the singer struggling to come to terms with the fact that their love is not returned while still holding onto hope for a future where it can be.

I just found this band after hearing their mist recent song :( I'm so happy but I wish I had found them a lot sooner </3 thwres so many underrated/really talented bands, or ones I still have yet to find, it sucks that theres like no english lyrics for songs like this :/ but I'm still happy I can listen to it, its so pretty, all of their songs are, even if I dont understand the words it's still nice to listen to, peaceful in a way, I can feel the emotion which is good enough, thank you for making music
