Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Laïs’ song Dorothea recount the story of a beautiful maiden named Dorothea who was a beloved friend of God. One day, on a feast day, all the young nuns had to leave the convent to get bread, but Dorothea didn’t know where to go. She went to the lady of the house and was welcomed in. After the meal was over, Dorothea thanked the Lord with a great celebration, and then she gave up her spirit. No one knew Dorothea was dead until bells rang, and people came searching for her. They saw the miracle of Dorothea's body being carried away by angels to heaven.
