After spending more and more time together as a band, their friendships started to strain. They began working on a new record by the end of summer 05 and found that they had grown apart and were interested in different music styles. Ido decided that it was time to pursue his music dreams apart from the band so he left the band to start a project he now calls Lion of Ido. Last Week played its last show in April of 2006. Matt, Neal, and Sherman have since started the Lights Resolve.

Last Week Lyrics

She is looking for that place that she left behind
They know that they don't' know what to do
I've got some advice for you
With a little bit of hope
With a little bit of hope they'll be singing
Their hearts are ringing
Nah
Sit around and you think about it
What's to live for I hope you doubt it
Stick around you've got lots left to do
No one wants to be hurt by you
With a little bit of hope
With a little bit of hope they'll be singing
Their hearts are ringing
Nah
So don't give up your life
You've got so much left to do
Nah
The lyrics of "Hope" by Last Week's band convey a message of encouragement to people who feel uncertain about their direction in life. The first stanza introduces two characters who are searching for something - a place where they can feel settled and content. The use of "he" and "she" suggests that this is a universal experience, applicable to anyone who feels lost or adrift. The lyrics then offer the listener some advice, implying that they have the answers that the characters in the song are seeking.
The chorus of the song repeats the words "with a little bit of hope," emphasizing the power of this elusive quality to brighten one's outlook and uplift one's spirit. This message is reinforced in the second verse, where the listener is urged to keep going and to resist the urge to give up. The final "Nah" at the end of each verse serves as a musical punctuation mark, hammering home the message of hope and determination.
Overall, the lyrics of "Hope" offer a simple yet powerful message of positivity and resilience in the face of adversity. By emphasizing the transformative power of hope, the song encourages listeners to keep pushing forward and to believe that better days are ahead.

When you mentioned Psalms 3:1-4, and you talked about the word "Selah," this came to my mind. You could easily replace the word "Selah" with the word nonetheless. Because it talked about how David was going through all the harassment/trials from his enemies, nonetheless, he trusted in the Lord. And he repeats it even after he speaks about the goodness of God taking care of him. It's like saying nonetheless, or I bear witness to the truth, because I know God and I trust in Him.

Thanks to the family of Hope Sabbath School. My testimony Psalm is 146:1 When my family was attacked by Satan a brother shared this comforting Psalm with me. That year was 1996 when I lost one of my son and was pleading to God to save the other one from death. God is really my refuge and strength.
