will bring you back home
you shut your eyes now because
youve been gone for so long
tell me theres something after
the comfort here is gone
so i am heaven bound now
M31 will guide me there
cascades burn as they light the
way to open hearts
celestial eyes unfold
map the stars from left
to right, miracle
my eyes stay closed
and i wait for so long
a brilliant fading spinning off
into the amber sky
a gentle sting above horizons
just to pass the time
keep a journal, a diary of
what you see
while embracing zero gravity
The lyrics to "Vela To Norma" by Last Winter paint a picture of someone who is on a journey, physically or metaphorically, and has become disconnected from their comfort zone. The first line suggests that the singer is encouraging someone else, or maybe even themselves, to close their eyes and find peace in the present moment. They mention being gone for so long, indicating that they have been away from their "home" for an extended period of time, whether that is a physical place or a more abstract idea. The singer then asks for reassurance that there is something beyond what they currently know and understand. They seem to be searching for meaning and purpose in their life and hope that there is something greater beyond their current reality.
The next few lines mention M31, which is the Great Andromeda Galaxy. The singer seems to be using this as a symbol of guidance or a path to follow. They say they are "heaven bound," which could mean they are seeking a higher power or divine intervention. As the song progresses, the imagery becomes more cosmic, with references to cascading stars and celestial eyes mapping out the universe. The singer implores the listener to keep a journal or diary of what they see, suggesting that there is value in observing and reflecting on the world around us. They end the song with the image of a sunset, and the feeling of time passing them by.
Overall, "Vela To Norma" is a reflective and introspective song that explores themes of isolation, longing, and the search for meaning. The imagery is cosmic and celestial, suggesting that there is a vastness to the human experience that is both beautiful and overwhelming. The singer encourages the listener to stop and appreciate the moment, while also searching for something greater.
