That's newly sprung in June
Oh, my love is like a melody
That's sweetly played in tune
As fair art thou, my bonny lass
Sae deep in love am I
And I will love thee still, my dear
Till a' the seas gang dry, my dear
Till a' the seas gang dry
And I will love thee still, my dear
Till a' the seas gang dry
Till a' the seas gang dry, my dear
And rocks melt wi' the sun
And I will love thee still, my dear
While the sands o' life shall run
So fair thee weel, my only love
So fair thee weel a while
And I will come again, my love
Though 'twere ten thousand mile
Though 'twere ten thousand mile, my love
Though 'twere ten thousand mile
And I will come again, my love
Though 'twere ten thousand mile
In Laura Wright's song "A Red Red Rose," the lyrics speak of a love that is as beautiful and fresh as a newly sprouted rose in the month of June, and as sweetly played as a melody in perfect tune. The singer is expressing her deep love and affection for her partner, comparing it to the loveliness of nature. The lyrics continue to describe the depth of the singer's emotional involvement, as she pledges her undying love to her partner till the end of time, a time when even the seas will dry up, and the rocks will melt with the sun. Despite the distance and the separation, the singer promises to return to her love, even if it takes her ten thousand miles to do so.
The song is a heart-warming expression of love that captures the magic of an enduring love story. The imagery used by the singer is vivid and evocative, as she compares the intensity of her love to the beauty of nature. By promising to return to her love, no matter the distance or circumstances, the singer is conveying a powerful message of devotion and commitment. The song conveys the idea that true love transcends all boundaries, and that it can survive even the toughest of challenges.
