"Elemental" is the most romantic movie for me. I even cried when i saw this film. Thier love story was so beautiful, even though they came from different worlds. The water guy, who has sweetheart and connects with others through his heart is paired with a firer girl, who has temper, impatient and always striving to fulfull parent dream without having her own target. Water guy who have truly love with uncondition.The truly love from dad that only want to see daughter happy.the storyline and truly love were so touching .

Yeah, but back in the days Pixar not want to gave Sequel to Monster Inc either, Just because disney want it. That's why years later they just gave them prequel (Monster University). I think it's too hard if it's not a big franchise.

I took my kids to see this movie and I can't believe it made a 35 year old man cry. It spoke to me in so many ways. The story is almost 100% how my wife and I were when we started dating. We didn't know if it would work because of cultural differences. Her story was exactly like Ember's. She was torn between what her heart wanted, and what she believed her family wanted. She also has Ember's temper, and I am the emotional one like wade.

I cried SO MUCH WATCHING THIS MOVIE! omg! It's so lovely!!! I was mesmerized by the creativity in everything, the jokes about each element, and the impossible becoming possible when opposites love each other and work to stay together! When Wade made Ember feel something and made her cry, and it actually changed her chemistry, IT WAS AWESOME!!! OMG! And I cried a lot seeing Ember cry, cause I know how she feels about wanting to please her parents, thinking she was an awful daughter and not going after what makes her shine, I CRIED SO MUCH!!! And the chemistry between Ember and Wade was sooo adorable!!!! When they hugged each other and kissed, OH MY! I wanna watch it again ❤️🔥💧❤️

I wonder if no villain and romance between working adults means less appealing to younger audiences?

I'm looking over Pixar's list of films and I think only soul & elemental are like the only 'adult' movies. Like they're regular movies just animated. No child or talking animal (or car, monster or robot) as a main character. This could be the plot of a regular romantic comedy-drama, maybe coming-of-age, live action movie and then it'd have less appeal to younger audiences.

In particular I think it's Pixar's only romantic movie (unless you wanna count Luca lol... But then can I count raya & the last dragon?).

To clarify, I really really enjoyed this movie. It just kinda hit me after reading some comments and double checking the list of Pixar movies, hmmm probably not so typical Pixar movie in terms of target audience.

I have no clue why this movie gets hate. This is an adorable movie. I relate to Ember’s story and i can see my parents so much in both Ember and Wade. Learning about each other’s culture and going past cultural differences and barriers. This movie handles that subject so perfectly.

Pixar and Disney have lost their reputation. The movie is great but it wasn't marketed right, it was marketed as a cliche love story and it seemed like a copy from Zootopia. If it was marketed correctly with caring about the film's success, it could have been one of Pixar's diamonds, it wasn't. Now, people don't have the incentive to see the movie because it didn't do well in the box office and didn't have anything that would give it a huge boost, the same happened with encanto but encanto had "we don't talk about bruno". Then people saw the movie on Disney plus and went its second cinema release happened people went to see on the big screen. Disney literally destroys their own movies and reputation by putting huge funds in the marketing of sequels or remakes of their movies, which most of the time they are either bad or just blunt. They just don't have faith in their new movies and only market garbage, so now most people don't put on the effort to see the new movies. Also, there is Disney plus which doesn't help when literally come out after one day of its theatrical release

One thing that's so beautiful about this song's montage is how we get to see Ember gradually opening up more around Wade as they go on more dates.

On the first date at the theater, she's wearing a hooded jacket and seems a little nervous and unsure. Then on the next date when visiting the photo booth and when going up to the lookout deck, she's wearing just a regular outfit of hers with a hood, and she starts being more carefree. Then we catch her back at work sneaking peeks at her photos with Wade...she's obviously got a crush on him now! And finally, when going to the outdoor cafe and the park, she's not even wearing a hood...she's just being herself and is so happy to be together with her water guy. This is just so freakin' sweet. Can't say enough how much I love this movie.

One of the things I loved the most was the fact that wade is so emotional and shows his feelings. It’s something a lot of films shy away from because a lot of people believe that men shouldn’t be like that so Pixar presenting him like this so unabashedly is so refreshing

One of the things Pixar is a master of is montages. They let the music and character expressions tell the story with no dialogue. The movie is amazing and a pixar masterpiece. All the topics like racism, falling in love despite the different cultures, torn apart between follow your own dream and the path your parents set for you, just hit different in this. The romantic never felt forced, they just clicked in place like a puzzle. I relate Ember so much and Wade is a precious gem. The animation was TOP TIER through the whole movie. The soundtrack stays in your ears AND your heart. Edit: AND I really loved that Wade was the emotional water guy and Ember the burning/hard girl. Nice dynamic

I can't describe how well Pixar has done this great job, Ember has so perfect body language, She is flame, cute, modest, caring, sensitive and it's so much relatable, Pixar used the fire and water so it didn't have to explain as most people know the science of fire and water. I have an alternative interpretation. The movie shows they are different (not just physically) and those differences make their love stronger. They celebrate the things that make their partner unique and learn about eachother's cultures. In addition, society treats them differently - that strongly influences their perspective and how they interact with the world. When Wade acknowledges that Ember faces additional challenges, and doesn't pretend their life experiences are the same or that the differences don't matter, it empowers him to be a more supportive partner (shielding her in the elevator, knocking over the anti-fire sign, brainstorming accommodations, ect... ). When he doesn't, she feels misunderstood. I 100% agree with you that the movie is beautiful.

Just watched this movie earlier and I gotta say this is one of the best romantic movies Disney had made over the years other than the classics. Elemental gives you a perspective on a forbidden love but if it's really true, it will work no matter how many times people deny your feelings for each other. And I love how the problems of pressure and realizing that your dream is different from your parents and that you should pursue what your heart tells you is what really gets me. I learned a lot on this film and given that its a kids movie, oh how I wish there will be a sequel :D I feel like a kid again :D

What movie isn’t “standard”?

- A fish finding his lost son and traveling to Australia? Fighting sharks along the way?

- A superhero with marital issues fighting to save both his family and marriage?

- A rat learns to cook in Paris in a love story between 2 humans? What is the city of Love? PARIS!

- A boy with a single mother (that in itself is extremely cliche) with his favorite toys which gets lost. Said toys desperate to make boy happy again by finding him.

People who trash Elemental because it is “generic” are ironically people who tread out the lazy, age old argument without any sort of critical thinking.

It’s an absolute copout to call Elemental generic when in fact most films past and present have simple plot lines.

I don’t care what people say, this movie is just as fun for me as Pixar’s classics. Yes, it’s not as deep or well-crafted as some of them, but it’s still a fun enough watch. The flaws can very easily be put aside, and considering the time period in which this film was probably deep into development, it’s a miracle that this film is as watchable and enjoyable as it is. And even if you disagree with these points, you gotta admit that this song is a bop, both in and out of context of the film. Nice job to both Lauv and the team at Pixar behind this film! 🔥💧

Elemental is such an amazing movie. The story was well-written, the charecters were all unique and colourful,the animation is top tier and best of all,the love story of ember and wade feels so realistic.
