I am not there, I do not sleep
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints on snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints on snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn rain
Gentle birds in circling flight
I am the soft star that shines at night
Oh do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not there, I did not die...
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints on snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn rain
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints on snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn rain
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep
Leah's song "Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep" is a beautiful and poignant reminder that death is not the end. The song encourages listeners to remember that the essence of a person lives on long after their physical body has passed. Leah sings that she is not in her grave and that she does not sleep because she has become a part of the world around us. When we feel the wind on our skin, see the glimmer of sunlight on snow, or watch the gentle rain of autumn, we can remember that Leah is still with us, in spirit.
The song's words offer comfort to those who have experienced loss, reminding us that even though our loved ones may not be physically present, they continue to be a part of our lives in a very real and meaningful way. The repetition of the lines "I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain" reinforces the idea that Leah's spirit is not confined to a single location but is present in the natural world around us.
In summary, "Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep" is a beautiful and comforting song that reminds us that death is not the end and that our loved ones continue to be a part of our lives in spirit.

Leah, My wife died at the end of may, She was 62. I wrote a Eulogy and this verse. If you like it, you are welcome to use it. I've taken to writing a lot of verse of late. Some of it reasonable some probably cheesy. Here is that verse.
Please do not weep for we must depart.
I'll always be there, there in your heart.
A little tiny piece, a tiny little part.
Of the friendship and love we did impart.
When you're sitting silent.
I'll suddenly be there.
Right beside you in that chair.
Bringing you thoughts and memories of times gone by.
Where we did laugh and we did cry.
Please remember me with happiness.
And please do not distress.
For I've not gone I'm just unseen.
And your sadness will only demean.
The memory of all we've had.
So please please don't be sad.

I really can't believe my dad is gone. He's really gone.
He is now up with God in heaven.
Finally, he will see Jesus face to face
Yes, it is, it’s tough for those left behind.
As for him, well I know Jesus is there with open arms and looking forward to seeing him.
And now mom, his parents and his brother, uncles, aunts and many others will be there to rejoice to his welcome home party.
Thank you Jesus, Thank you Jesus, for being my comforter, for being my savior, for being my Lord and God. It gives me joy, and I rejoice.

My four year old daughter. A red headed little girl with the heart of a valkayrie passed March 5,2017 I just found this song today and the image as i sat there and listened over and over brought me such peace I can't describe it. Thank you so much for sharing this song. Without the melody you put it to I don't think it would have given such a healing moment for me. I thank you.
I could see my daughter fully grown the wind talking her long vibrant red hair and blowing it gently waking over a bridge spanning a great canyon filled with mist to Valhalla. The lush green rolling hills that would cushion you better then the best bed with little white flowers all over. The scent of freshly fallen rain filling the air. I could see the other warriors in Valhalla standing there, some with spears beating the ground, some with sword and shield moving to meet with each note of the drums in the background as they waited for my daughter to join them.
Your words made this image so vivid in my mind that it was almost more real then right now. The combination was pure magic. This song I can't say enough about. Thank you for a wonderful cover that brought some peace to a broken hearted mother.
