In 2009, Lee-Leet recorded and self-released her debut album, “State of Emergency” and took it to just one radio station: the cult Channel 3 of the Polish Radio, a trendsetting station that brought up generations of music lovers in Poland. It got played and Lee-Leet started receiving messages from her first fans congratulating her on the album. The listeners' interest led to more airplay both in Poland and internationally.
In the spring of 2011, Lee-Leet released her second album called “Bare” where she sings about emotions using minimalistic means of expression i.e. only her voice and the piano.
On the 7th of November 2011, Lee-Leet published her latest album called "LEAVE IT BEHIND". The new album is the third album since her debut in 2009 but the first one she arranged and recorded with her band performing Lee-Leet (voice, music, lyrics, programming, effects), Andrzej Frolow (keys), Tomasz Glinka (bass), Krzysztof Rukat (guitar), Robert Sopala (drums). Poland’s leading commercial FM rock radio station, Antyradio, provides media support of the album.
The new album which is also the title of the single and has an accompanying music video, contains 11 songs, nine in English and two in Polish. Szymon Gołąb, a music journalist, wrote in his review of Lee-Leet’s first two albums: “In the case of Lee-Leet, choosing to write lyrics in English is not a matter of just favouring the latest fashion, or seeking easy phrasing. This music emerges from a language older than speech, the language of the heart, in which the human voice tends to the whisper.... What's more, there's an amazing fusion of styles in the way “Bare” is composed, as it takes quite remarkable artistic skill and musicality to range freely and convincingly from classical and jazz idioms to those to which we have become accustomed in the cool, somewhat gothic aesthetic of Bat for Lashes, or Tori Amos.”
Grzegorz Zembrowski, a music journalist at Channel 3 of the Polish Radio, was very positive about Lee-Leet's honest compositions, independent of any trends: "This album is hard to classify as it doesn't follow any trends or fashions. It doesn't try to fit into the current 'hot sells' category either. No, Lee-Leet sang and played what she felt and what she wanted. We keep our fingers crossed! It looks like a great beginning" - he said commenting on “State of Emergency”.

Doo doo doo-doo doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo-doo doo doo doo doo
You've got your mother in a whirl
She's not sure if you're a boy or a girl
Hey babe, your hair's alright
Hey babe, let's go out tonight
We like dancing and we look divine
You love bands when they're playing hard
You want more and you want it fast
They put you down, they say I'm wrong
You tacky thing, you put them on
Rebel Rebel, you've torn your dress
Rebel Rebel, your face is a mess
Rebel Rebel, how could they know?
Hot tramp, I love you so!
Don't ya?
Doo doo doo-doo doo doo doo doo
You've got your mother in a whirl 'cause she's
Not sure if you're a boy or a girl
Hey babe, your hair's alright
Hey babe, let's stay out tonight
You like me, and I like it all
We like dancing and we look divine
You love bands when they're playing hard
You want more and you want it fast
They put you down, they say I'm wrong
You tacky thing, you put them on
Rebel Rebel, you've torn your dress
Rebel Rebel, your face is a mess
Rebel Rebel, how could they know?
Hot tramp, I love you so!
Don't ya?
Oh?
Doo doo doo-doo doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo-doo doo doo doo doo
Rebel Rebel, you've torn your dress
Rebel Rebel, your face is a mess
Rebel Rebel, how could they know?
Hot tramp, I love you so!
You've torn your dress, your face is a mess
You can't get enough, but enough ain't the test
You've got your transmission and your live wire
You got your cue line and a handful of ludes
You wanna be there when they count up the dudes
And I love your dress
You're a juvenile success
Because your face is a mess
So how could they know?
I said, how could they know?
So what you wanna know
Calamity's child, chi-chi, chi-chi
Where'd you wanna go?
What can I do for you? Looks like you've been there too
'Cause you've torn your dress
And your face is a mess
Ooo, your face is a mess
Ooo, ooo, so how could they know?
Eh, eh, how could they know?
Eh, eh
The lyrics to "Rebel Rebel" by Lee-Leet depict a rebellious and defiant individual who challenges societal norms and expectations. The repeated "doo doo doo-doo doo doo doo doo" serves as a catchy and infectious hook that adds to the rebellious and energetic tone of the song.
The first verse addresses the confusion the singer causes, particularly with their appearance and gender identity. This ambiguity unsettles the singer's mother, who is unsure whether they are a boy or a girl. Despite this, the singer remains confident and self-assured, proclaiming that their "hair's alright" and suggesting going out together.
The chorus, with its repetition of "Rebel Rebel, you've torn your dress, your face is a mess," celebrates the singer's defiance and non-conformity. The use of provocative language such as "hot tramp" reflects the rebellious and bold nature of the singer.
The second verse reaffirms the singer's love for music, their desire for excitement and instant gratification, and their disdain for those who criticize and judge them. The line "You tacky thing, you put them on" suggests that the singer is unbothered by the negative opinions of others and wears their uniqueness as a badge of honor.
The final verse delves deeper into the singer's persona, referencing their wild behavior, drug use ("a handful of ludes"), and desire to be recognized and admired. The lyrics imply that the singer experiences both success and challenges, with their "face is a mess" being a consequence of their rebellious lifestyle.
Overall, "Rebel Rebel" is a celebration of individuality, non-conformity, and pushing boundaries. It portrays the singer as a charismatic and untamed character who refuses to be defined by societal conventions and expectations. The song captures the spirit of rebellion and the joy of embracing one's true self, regardless of societal norms and judgments.
