1) Leper is a Canadian anarchist ska-crust band on Creepcore Records who often cover topics such as the vagrant life, the KKK, and homelessness all in a unique style blending oppressively slow reggae grooves with apocalytpic, world's end visions and dark sonic brutality. Leper are a misanthropic and very radical anarcho-primitivist blackened crust band, featuring some members of Iskra.
2) Leper is also an alternative/ industrial/goth band from Chicago, Illinois that has an eclectic approach to their song writing. An edgier Cure, a darker Pink Floyd with NIN style drums. No stranger to the goth scene Leper uses driving keys, brooding guitar and hauntingly melodic vocals to orchestrate a compelling sound combining elements of goth, Industrial, dance & rock while generally exuding the shadowy emotional spookiness that defines a goth band, Leper’s influences and inspiration are drawn from many different sources creating a musical tapestry woven with the threads of despair, struggle and redemption.
Formed in 2000 by vocalist/guitarist Skot Shaw - the band has gone through many incarnations and its latest one has bassist ottO Jensen, Cecily Marx on keys and Count Chuckula (http://www.soultonecymbals.com/ArtistDetail.aspx?ArtistID=790) on drums.

Scar
Leper Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
It's an old scar, from an old wound
Acts up every now and then
It's been there ever since the day it was inflicted
By an evil little monkey with an evil little smile
And you know she's just lying
When she says it doesn't matter
Even though it isn't bleeding
And it feels one day she'll go mad all of a sudden
Cause it makes her feel cold
Maybe just a little dirty
But she shouldn't take it out
On the one's who really love her
Even though she's been told
She's completely justifiable
It still doesn't help
After all...
Who can love a broken toy?
(Excerpt from "Breakfast At Tiffany's" again)
Even though it's still there
It's become a whole lot easier
Ever since she gave her life
To the one who died to save her
Now her blood runs white
And she's
She's thinking clearly
She won't let anyone
Tell her that she's crazy
Cause she knows how she feels
When she closes her eyes
And the healing began
The healing began
The healing
Withe every day that passes
You know she's getting stronger
Even though she's got a long way to go
She's come so far
Too far to look back now
(Excerpt from "Breakfast At Tiffany's" ending song)
The Leper's song Scar delves deep into the emotional trauma of a person who has been hurt in the past. The lyrics vividly describe an old scar that still acts up every now and then and was inflicted by an evil little monkey. The scar is a metaphor for the emotional wound that was inflicted by a toxic relationship, and even though the person tries to move on and says it doesn't matter, it still hurts deep down inside.
The lyrics reflect the struggle of the person to overcome the pain and the fear of being hurt again. They feel that they might go mad all of a sudden because the scar makes them feel cold and dirty. However, they are aware that they shouldn't take it out on the ones who really love them, even though they have been told that they are completely justifiable. The person is trying to overcome their trauma by seeking solace in the one who died to save her, and they feel that their healing has begun because her blood runs white.
As the song progresses, it becomes evident that the person is slowly but surely healing. They feel that with every passing day, they are getting stronger, and they have come too far to look back. The Scar that once caused them pain has become easier to deal with, and they won't let anyone tell them that they are crazy. The song ends on a positive note, indicating that the healing has begun, and the person is gradually emerging from the darkness into the light.
