Jazz Giants '56 is my all-time favorite record. I've listened to it for forty plus years and never fail to find something new in it.--Jazz at its greatest. Thank you!

@nassar57

Does anything in this life ever get any better than the sweet sounds of Prez?

@helluvagun

He is NOT underrated he is maybe THE MAN among many of the other top tenorists like: Coleman Hawkins, Sonny Rollins, John Coltrane, Ben Webster, Dexter Gordon. You can't compare them - all you just have to do is listen and like(dislike) them for what they did(do).

Lester Young. What a talent. Wow this song goes straight to my soul!

Personally I treasure Wilson*s piano, a superb sound quality and beautiful phrasing,not to mention, considering those years recording technology. Second or probably the most is Eldridge. His name will last forever with this play. Ali in all this is a beautiful milestone of this kind jazz. I love this.

Every time I listen to this record, I can't believe I found it in a record basement in Boston for $2

@ConstantineAndreas

Lester Young. So underrated. So smooth.

Just simply great

I guess I'll have to change my plan I should have realized there'd be another man I overlooked that point completely Until the big affair began Before I knew where I was at I found myself upon the shelf and that was that I tried to reach the moon but when I got there All that I could get was the air My feet are back upon the ground I lost the one girl I'd found

The famous trombone player, JJ Johnson, was influenced by Lester and in his early days had memorized many of his solos. JJ would go on to become the leading exponent of bebop trombone but would never forget Prez. It wasn’t all about technique but emotive capability or feel. Each soloist on this record had that property. Thanks for posting!
