Read Full Bio ↴Lewd Acts were one of San Diego California's best kept hardcore secrets.
Lewd Acts' brand of raw noise reeks of true soul and stunning originality. Opting to embrace their pre-1988 punk and hardcore influences, they shun metal tendencies of today's hardcore scene. Vocally crooning and sonically winding their way through each song in ways that are continuously moving and exciting.
A release history: Lewd Acts released their demo in 2005, a recording that garnered enough interest to come out as a 7"EP just a few months later. In mid 2006, they released their "...On Lonely Nights" 7"EP on the Eating Rats label. Early 2007 saw Lewd Acts self release their "Dark Days" CD Collection, which featured the demo and 7"EP, along with three additional songs (a release they gave us that we thought to be awesome). They were also featured on the "Sound & Fury Festival 2006" 2XDVD. In March 2008, the band self released their "Play Me Something That I Know" cassette, which was later followed by their celebrated Split 7"EP/CDEP w/ Hour Of The Wolf in May 2008. Lewd Acts released the "Lung Patrol" 7" on 16OH/Animal Style records in the Fall of 2009.Their last album "Black Eye Blues" was engineered by Kurt Ballou (Converge) at God City Studios and was released on Deathwish .
Lewd Acts broke up in June 2010
tyler then punched his guitarist in the face
but apparently it wasn't hard enough. Lewd Acts got back together in 2012.
I Scream
Lewd Acts Lyrics

And it's these same old words
That are boring me
How can you be so content
With everything already said?
What the fuck are you fighting?
Where's your revolution?
What the fuck are you writing?
Get back to the drawing
Bored.
With broken letters in brain-dead words
This shit's got me screaming
Moving backwards
Your knuckles scrape
What the fuck are you fighting?
Where's your revolution?
What the fuck are you writing?
Where's your revolution?
Fallen, flat-lined,
Now close the fucking curtains
Rock bottom wasn't deep enough,
Sunk ship's situations worsened
Tell the kids
They've got some diggin' to do
Tell your friends it now ends
We've got some screaming to do
Yeah, it's got me screaming
So keep on screaming!
The lyrics of Lewd Acts's song I Scream convey a strong message of frustration and disillusionment with the state of society. The opening lines "Mediocrity is the majority, and it's these same old words that are boring me" express the singer's disgust with the lack of originality and creativity in the mainstream. They are calling out people who are content with the same old ideas, the same old culture and questioning why they are not engaging in a revolution of new ideas.
The chorus, "What the fuck are you fighting? Where's your revolution? What the fuck are you writing? Where's your revolution?" is a bold statement. The singer is challenging the complacency of society and urging for a change in direction. They express their frustration with how stagnant things have become and are asking for a call to action, a call to revolution that will bring about change.
The lines "Fallen, flat-lined, Now close the fucking curtains, Rock bottom wasn't deep enough, Sunk ship's situations worsened" seem to convey the feeling of hopelessness and that things have repeatedly failed. Possibly, the singer is giving up hope in trying to reach out to others to join the revolution. However, the lines "We've got some screaming to do, Yeah, it's got me screaming, So keep on screaming!" suggest that there is still hope to instill a revolution.
Overall, the song calls for a revolution in art, culture, and society. It speaks out against the mediocre and calls for action, for the youth to rise up and create something new.
