Tecca first gained traction during an early 2018 beef with Toronto rapper "Lb Spiffy" after Lb accused Tecca of stealing his flow on the track "Callin". Tecca continued the momentum by releasing songs on SoundCloud such as "My Time", "Get It Back", "Love Me" and "Count Me Out". In the time since his initial May 2019 rise to fame, from the Lyrical Lemonade, Cole Bennett directed music video hit, "Ransom", Tecca has released his debut mixtape, We Love You Tecca, which peaked at number 4 on the US Billboard 200 and contains hits such as "Did It Again", "Out of Luck" and "Shots" peaking at 64, 80, and 84, on the US Billboard Hot 100. On August 27th 2021 Tecca released his highly anticipated album "We Love You Tecca 2", which peaked at number 4 on the billboard top 100.

She said it's over, I ain't need her
I just hope she sober, I ain't seen her
You was tryna show love, I ain't see ya
Nowadays, we gettin' more bucks, gettin' cleaner
I ain't even get my top fly on the meter
Tried to tell 'em we was top five, ain't believe us
I ain't ever tried to slow it down, to let 'em keep up
She runnin' back, she want it too
She hit me up like, "Baby, yeah, I got you"
She want it bad, I want it too
She hit me up like, "Baby, yeah, I want you"
No, I ain't mad, I play it smooth
I run it up 'cause everyday I got to
Let me see how long all them bands will last you
They gon' see it's real when we roll past you
It ain't really shit, cut 'em off (yeah, yeah)
We don't really miss when we ball out, yeah
They gon' copy that, copy this (yeah, yeah)
If I'm going out, I'm going all out (yeah)
Ain't thinking 'bout' tomorrow, I ain't promised that
I just got a call and I ain't callin' back
Told me that my problem was I'm too laid back
Could've said I'm mad, because you ain't mad
She said it's over, I ain't need her
I just hope she sober, I ain't seen her
You was tryna show love, I ain't see ya
Nowadays, we gettin' more bucks, gettin' cleaner
I ain't even get my top fly on the meter
Tried to tell 'em we was top five, ain't believe us
I ain't ever tried to do the most to make 'em see us
I ain't ever tried to slow it down to let 'em keep up
She runnin' back, she want it too
She hit me up like, "Baby, yeah, I got you"
She want it bad, I want it too
She hit me up like, "Baby, yeah, I want you"
No, I ain't mad, I play it smooth
I run it up 'cause everyday I got to
Let me see how long all them bands will last you
They gon' see it's real when we roll past you
She runnin' back, she want it too
She hit me up like, "Baby, yeah, I got you"
She want it bad, I want it too
She hit me up like, "Baby, yeah, I want you"
She runnin' back, she want it too
She hit me up like, "Baby, yeah, I got you"
She want it bad, I want it too
She hit me up like, "Baby, yeah, I want you"
The lyrics to Lil Tecca's "Want It Bad" convey a sense of independence and self-assurance, as the singer reflects on a past relationship that has ended. The opening lines express a sense of detachment and dismissal towards the ex-partner, indicating that the singer is focusing on their own growth and success. As the song progresses, the narrative shifts to a new dynamic with the ex-partner expressing a desire to reconcile. The ex-partner reaches out and expresses a strong longing for the singer, suggesting that there may still be feelings lingering between them. The repetition of "She want it bad, I want it too" indicates a mutual desire for connection and intimacy, despite the previous detachment mentioned at the beginning of the song. The singer acknowledges the attraction and interest, but also maintains a cool and composed demeanor, indicating a sense of control and confidence in the situation.
The lyrics then delve into a sense of assertiveness and individuality, with the singer asserting their own agency and autonomy. The mention of cutting off those who bring negativity or doubt reinforces a sense of prioritizing one's own well-being and success. The singer seems unbothered by external opinions or expectations, choosing to live in the moment and embrace a carefree attitude towards the future. The refusal to dwell on tomorrow and the emphasis on living fully in the present reflect a sense of spontaneity and living without regrets.
