In Lilith's song, "El Amor Duele" she sings about the pain of love. The opening lines "estoy sangrando a travez de ti, soy tu despensa y tu cojin" suggest that the singer is pouring all of themselves into their lover, acting as a storehouse of emotion and a safe space for comfort. However, this comes at a great cost to the singer, as she pours herself into her lover she is also "sangrando" or bleeding out. The lines "quiero que sonrias solo para mi quiero que te mueras si eso no es asi" reveal the singer's desperation for the love to be reciprocated. She wants her lover to only smile for her and is willing to die if that isn't the case. This illustrates how intense and all-consuming love can be.

The lines "guardas tu alma en algun lugar donde solo yo se llegar, soy un fosil en tu jardin, solo tengo flores llenas de hollin" suggest that the love between the singer and her lover is one-sided. Her lover holds back and only reveals their soul to her; she is like a fossil in their garden, present but forgotten. The flowers in her garden may be beautiful, but they are covered in soot, indicating that the love between the two may have been intense and passionate, but has since become dirty and sad. The chorus repeats "el amor duele nene el amor duele" emphasizing the idea that love is painful, but despite its pain, the singer is willing to endure it in order for the relationship to work.
