El Toro Relajo
Linda Ronstadt Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

¡Aguas! Que ahi viene un toro
Ese relajo
Escóndete tras las trancas, chatita
Que viene bravo
Y aviéntame tu rebozo mi vida
Pa' capotearlo

Toro, Toro, Toro,
Entra de largo
Que mi prieta chula, torito
te está mirando
Toro, Toro, Toro
Toro relajo
Ya te estoy quitando, torito
lo alebrestado

Ya van a abrir las trancas
De su chiquero
Que ya le quité a este toro, mi vida
Lo mitotero

Ahí va como borreguito, chatita
A su potrero

Overall Meaning

These lyrics are from Linda Ronstadt's song "El Toro Relajo." The song is about a wild bull and how the singer tries to avoid its charge. The singer asks someone to hide behind the fence, while she tries to distract the bull with her rebozo, a traditional Mexican shawl, so that it does not attack.

At the same time, the singer also taunts the bull, saying that her beautiful dark-skinned lover is watching and that she is trying to calm the bull down. She urges the bull to enter the ring, where she will be waiting with her rebozo to distract him. In the end, the singer tells the listener that the bull has been calmed down and is moving back to his pen.
