The group had three hits: the first and biggest was the nostalgic tune "Those Oldies but Goodies (Remind Me of You)", a #9 Pop and #28 R&B hit in 1961. The follow-up, "Hully Gully Again", hit #54, and subsequent release "Memories of those Oldies but Goodies" Bubbled Under at #101. They also released a full-length album on Del-Fi Records.
The group's live act sometimes included wearing togas on stage. They broke up in 1962, at least partly due to an argument between lead singer Carl Barnett and member David Johnson (who performed the spoken-word portion of "Those Oldies but Goodies") as to which of them was Little Caesar.
I Need You So

To keep me happy
If I can't have you
I cannot go on
I need your arms
Around me tightly
Yes, I miss them nightly
When the day is done
I miss you so
I lie and wait
To hear you knock on the door
When you leave me
I try not to worry
Come back in a hurry
Cause I need you so
When the day is done
I miss you so
I lie and wait
To hear you knock on the door
When you leave me
I try not to worry
Come back in a hurry
Cause I need you so.
The lyrics to "I Need You So" by Little Caesar & The Romans express the singer's dependence on their loved one for happiness and their inability to cope without them. The opening line "I need you so, to keep me happy" reveals how essential their partner is in maintaining their emotional well-being. The repetition of "I need you so" throughout the song emphasizes the constant yearning for their loved one's presence.
Additionally, the verses describe the physical and emotional absence the singer experiences when their partner is not with them. The lines "I need your arms around me tightly" and "Yes, I miss them nightly when you're not at home" illustrate the singer's desire for physical affection, while the lines "When the day is done, I miss you so, I lie and wait to hear you knock on the door" convey the emotional loneliness they feel without their partner.
Overall, "I Need You So" exemplifies the universal human need for connection and the emotional power of love.
