Tu vanidad no te deja entender
Que en la pobreza se sabe querer
Quiero llorar
Los Bukis’s “Tu Carcel” is a classic Spanish language ballad about lost love that speaks to the pain of a partner leaving for the sake of vanity and chasing after new experiences. The lyrics tell the story of a man who is sorrowful and torn apart by the realization that his partner has left him. He tries to reason with his partner, telling her that nobody is perfect and that she will eventually come to regret her decision. He also warns her that her new adventures will be nothing more than a prison from which she will never escape and urges her to remember the sincere love that they shared.
The lyrics are emotional and powerful, filled with sadness, regret, and a deep sense of loss. The song speaks to the universal experience of heartbreak and the difficulty of letting go of someone we love. The music has a slow, mournful quality to it, with a simple acoustic guitar line that underscores the passionate vocal performance by lead singer Marco Antonio Solis. The song has become a classic of Latin American music, beloved for its powerful message and moving execution.
