Ojos Negros
Los Chichos Lyrics

Son tus ojos negros,
Que me están matando,
La vida me quitan.
Vientos,
Quiero nuevos vientos
Y poder vivir como quiera mi vida.
Estoy aprendiendo a vivir,
Mi corazón ya se esta endureciendo.
Después de hacer tanto bien,
No saben agradecerlo.
Así que voy a venir
Con una barra de hierro.
Al que pretenda venir
A hacer de lo blanco negro.
Negros,
Son tus ojos negros,
Que me están matando,
La vida me quitan.
Vientos,
Quiero nuevos vientos
Y poder vivir como quiera mi vida.
Ahora me toca ganar,
Porque yo siempre he salido perdiendo.
Confiaba en los demás,
Caminaba como un ciego.
Ya no me van a engañar
Sé cuando me están mintiendo.
Voy a olvidar todo el mal
Y comenzaré de nuevo.
Negros,
Son tus ojos negros,
Que me están matando,
La vida me quitan.
Vientos,
Quiero nuevos vientos
Y poder vivir como quiera mi vida.
Por fin encontré la verdad,
Hablé con dios y me dijo
Que el tiempo tiene mi felicidad,
La que yo tanto deseo
Abriré mi corazón
Solo a la mujer que quiero.
Le daré lo que guardé
Y compartiré mi sueño.
Negros,
Son tus ojos negros,
Que me están matando,
La vida me quitan.
Vientos,
Quiero nuevos vientos
Y poder vivir como quiera mi vida.
Negros...
The lyrics of Los Chichos's song "Ojos Negros" express the frustration and pain of the singer with the challenges and hardships of life. The singer refers to the "black eyes" that are killing him and taking away his life, which can be interpreted as a metaphor for the difficulties and obstacles that he has encountered in his life. He continues to express a desire for change and new winds, wanting to live his life as he sees fit. The lyrics also suggest that the singer has recently gone through a difficult experience which has left him feeling betrayed and disillusioned.
As the song progresses, the tone becomes more resolute, as the singer looks to leave behind the bitterness and start anew. He speaks of how he has learned to live and that his heart has hardened, having done good without receiving thanks for it. The singer is fed up with people making white seem black and destroying his world. The repetition of the phrase "Vientos, quiero nuevos vientos" suggests that he wants to leave his troubles behind and start anew.
Soon, the tone changes, as the singer discovers a new clarity and sense of purpose. He has found the truth through speaking with God, and now knows that his happiness lies in the future. He resolves to forget about the bad things that have happened in the past and leave behind the negative people who have caused him pain. He desires to open his heart only to the woman he loves, who will be the recipient of his love, trust, and dreams.

Negros,
The color of your eyes is black
Son tus ojos negros,
Your black eyes are the cause of my suffering
Que me están matando,
I am slowly dying because of them
La vida me quitan.
They are taking away my life
Vientos,
I want a change of winds
Quiero nuevos vientos
I want new opportunities in life
Y poder vivir como quiera mi vida.
So I can live my life the way I want
Estoy aprendiendo a vivir,
I am learning to live
Mi corazón ya se esta endureciendo.
My heart is becoming hardened
Después de hacer tanto bien,
After doing so much good
No saben agradecerlo.
People don't appreciate it
Así que voy a venir
So I'm going to come
Con una barra de hierro.
With an iron bar
Al que pretenda venir
To anyone who tries to
A hacer de lo blanco negro.
Make what is good bad
Ahora me toca ganar,
Now it's my turn to win
Porque yo siempre he salido perdiendo.
Because I have always come out the loser
Confiaba en los demás,
I trusted others
Caminaba como un ciego.
I walked like a blind man
Ya no me van a engañar
They are not going to fool me anymore
Sé cuando me están mintiendo.
I know when they are lying to me
Voy a olvidar todo el mal
I'm going to forget all the bad
Y comenzaré de nuevo.
And start over
Por fin encontré la verdad,
Finally, I found the truth
Hablé con dios y me dijo
I spoke with God and He told me
Que el tiempo tiene mi felicidad,
That happiness comes with time
La que yo tanto deseo
The happiness that I desire so much
Abriré mi corazón
I will open my heart
Solo a la mujer que quiero.
Only to the woman I love
Le daré lo que guardé
I will give her what I have been keeping
Y compartiré mi sueño.
And share my dreams
