The band, which collaborated with some music stars such as Debbie Harry, Mick Jones, Celia Cruz, Rubén Blades and Fishbone, received the MTV Latino Video Music Award in 1994 for the single "Matador", in what probably was the peak of popularity of the band. On September 29 of that year they produced an MTV Unplugged concert. The Cadillacs also won the 1998 Grammy Award for Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album, and were nominated in the 2000 Latin Grammy Awards for Best Band and Best Music Video ("La Vida"), which received the now-defunct International Viewer's Choice Award (Southern Region) at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards.
Llama

The lyrics of "Llama" by Los Fabulosos Cadillacs convey a strong sense of respect and admiration for someone who has passed away. The song starts with the phrase "Basta, basta de llamarme así" which translates to "Enough, enough of calling me that." It seems as though the person who has passed away has been given a derogatory nickname, and the singer is determined to put an end to it.
The singer then declares that they will "go up" or rise to the challenge when their turn comes, implying that they will honor the memory of the person who has passed away. As the song continues, the singer dedicates it to the person in question, either through their own voice or the voices of those who are asleep.
The final phrase "Y juro, que la cara voy a dar" means "And I swear, that I will put my face on it." This indicates that the singer is willing to stand up for the person who has passed away, even in the face of those who might speak ill of them. Overall, "Llama" is a powerful and heartfelt tribute to someone who has left an indelible mark on the singer's life.

Lyric in English
You're consuming me,
you're wasting me
You're making me desperate
and I kneel for you
You're confusing me, you're walking me And you're drying up,
oh Lord, my heart
I want to see sunrise But on the other side see sunrise
But someone stays here to know if
I'm still alive
So I want to see sunrise
But on the other side see sunrise
But someone stays here
To find out if
I'm still alive I have a soul escaped, Dizzy consciousness
My life is so tired To seek your forgiveness
I come flying very low, Looking for some clear where to rest
It is that I come bandeando, I'm falling from waiting so long.
Beautiful sky returns my soul,
Cielito I ask you for another chance Heaven don't sink me, don't tear me apart
Cielito, don't leave me without knowing the truth.
I want to see...
I ran away from my house
I ran away from my love but nobody escapes from your hand sir
I want to see sunrise

I love this song - can't believe it was done by Los Fabulosos Cadillacs. The only other song I know them from is "El Matador" and I loved it.
