'Ta Llorando
Los Olimareños Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Tantas voces y miradas tan queridas

The song 'Ta Llorando' by Los Olimareños is a nostalgic and emotional reflection on the experience of being away from home and feeling homesick. The lyrics express the longing for the familiar sights, sounds, and people of their homeland while being in a distant and alien place. The opening lines set the stage for an introspective journey as the singer gazes out at the distant horizon and feels the presence of their home country, symbolized by the Olimar River and the scent of the mountains carried by the breeze. The second verse compares the night sky and the moon in their current location with those of their homeland, highlighting the emotional attachment and memories that they associate with it.
The final two verses express the pain felt from being separated from loved ones and the places which they hold dear in their hearts. They bid farewell to specific locations, mountains, and rivers, but also to people, emphasizing the connection between these places and human relationships. The repetition of the phrase 'Ay, paisito mi corazón ta' llorando' throughout the song adds to the overall emotional impact, conveying the depth of their longing and sadness. The song is a heartfelt tribute to nostalgia, homesickness, and the pain of separation, resonating with anyone who has experienced the ache of longing for home.

Cuando en tierras extrañas miro triste
la lejanía azul del horizonte,
siento clarito al Olimar que pasa
y la brisa me trae olor a monte...
When I sorrowfully gaze upon the blue horizon
of foreign lands,
I clearly feel the presence of Olimar passing by
and the breeze brings me the scent of the mountains...
This sky is not the sky of my homeland,
and this moon does not shine like the one before,
the one that illuminated my lofty dreams,
bigger than the trembling of the stars...
Tantas voces y miradas tan queridas
So many beloved voices and faces
are no longer in the pub or by the barbecue,
others wander the world without consolation.
Oh, dear country, my heart is crying...
Goodbye to the hills, mountains, rivers, and plains,
goodbye to Meco, Pelao, Rubio and Serrano,
farewell Bilbao, Manuel, and Laucha are coming with me.
Oh, dear country, my heart is crying...
