Los Pasteles Verdes was founded by guitarist Víctor Hugo Acuña and keyboardist Cesar Acuña, who are brothers; they had previously played together in The Jeekstones and Los Benkers. In 1973 they formed Los Pasteles Verdes with singer German Laos, drummer Jorge Luis Principe, bassist Miguel Moreno, and percussionist Juan Vásquez. In 1974, another singer, Aldo Guibovich, joined the group. Their first hit, a success across Latin America, was "Angelitos Negros", which preceded the release of their debut Recuerdos de Una Noche.[ Among their later hits were "Hipocresia" and "Esclavo y Amo".
The group made a significant impact on the Mexican and Mexican-American musical markets in the late 1970s. For part of the 1970s and 1980s they were based out of Mexico. They toured Japan in 2007
El Reloj
Los Pasteles Verdes Lyrics

por que voy a enloquecer,
ella se ira para siempre
cuando amanezca otra vez.
No mas, nos queda esta noche
para vivir nuestro amor,
y tu tic tac me recuerda
su irremediable dolor.
----
Reloj deten tu camino
por que mi vida se apaga,
ella es la estrella que alumbra mi ser
yo sin su amor no soy nada.
----
Deten el tiempo en tus manos
haz de esta noche perpetua,
para que nunca se vaya de mi
para que nunca amanezca.
Los Pasteles Verdes's song "El Reloj" is a powerful ballad that speaks of the agony of a man whose lover is about to leave him forever. From the start of the song, the man begs the clock to stop ticking and not mark the hours that will lead to her departure. He pleads with the clock not to make him go mad and to allow him to live in his moment of passion for a little bit longer. He knows that when morning comes, his lover will disappear, and he will be left with nothing but the memories of their time together.
As the song progresses, the man realizes that this is his last chance to be with his lover, and he pleads with the clock to stop time altogether. He knows that without her, he is nothing, and her love is like a beacon of hope in his life. He is afraid that once she's gone, he will never find love again. The clock's constant reminder of time passing only makes his pain worse.
The song's lyrics are accompanied by a somber melody that highlights the man's despair. The melancholy tone of the guitar and keyboard perfectly captures the sadness and heartbreak that the man is feeling as he begs the clock to stop ticking. The song is an ode to lost love, and the pain that comes with it. It is a powerful reminder of the fragility of life and love.

Reloj, no marques las horas
Clock, don't mark the hours

when morning comes again.
No mas, nos queda esta noche
No more, we have only tonight
para vivir nuestro amor,
to live our love
y tu tic tac me recuerda

Reloj deten tu camino
Clock, stop your path
