Che Nena
Los Pericos Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Me vas a matar
Conmigo qué historia esta vez
Tu juego no voy a jugar
Te tengo entre la cintura y el pie
A los golpes ya lo jugué
Te tengo entre la cintura y el pie
Che nena
Ya no puedo mas
Con cuerdas cadenas y arnés
Ya no haces más que golpear
Mañana me voy a curar
No soy esclavo ni me gusta el látigo
No soy esclavo ni me gusta el látigo
Che nena
The lyrics to Los Pericos's song "Che Nena" depict a tumultuous and potentially dangerous relationship between two individuals. The singer feels trapped and controlled by their partner, expressing their resentment and frustration through the lyrics. The lines "Me vas a matar" and "Conmigo qué historia esta vez" suggest that the partner is prone to violent outbursts and unpredictable behavior, making the singer fear for their safety. The singer refuses to engage in their partner's games any longer, stating "Tu juego no voy a jugar." However, despite the singer's attempts to assert their independence, they still feel powerless and unable to escape their partner's grasp, represented by the line "Te tengo entre la cintura y el pie."
The chorus of the song, "No soy esclavo ni me gusta el látigo," provides a clear message about the importance of freedom and personal autonomy in a relationship. The singer refuses to be controlled or dominated, rejecting the idea of being a slave to their partner's whims. Despite the partner's attempts to restrain them with "cuerdas, cadenas y arnes," the singer is determined to break free and "curarse" or heal from the toxic dynamic. Overall, "Che Nena" is a powerful and emotional song about the destructive consequences of a controlling and abusive relationship.

Hey girl
Me vas a matar
You're going to kill me
Conmigo qué historia esta vez
What's the story with me this time
Tu juego no voy a jugar
I'm not going to play your game
Te tengo entre la cintura y el pie
I have you between the waist and the foot
A los golpes ya lo jugué
I already played it with punches
No soy esclavo ni me gusta el látigo
I'm not a slave and I don't like the whip
Ya no puedo mas
I can't take it anymore
Con cuerdas cadenas y arnés
With ropes, chains and a harness
Ya no haces más que golpear
You do nothing but hit
Mañana me voy a curar
I'll heal tomorrow
