My Dad got given the 78 of this with a few other 78s and a 1950s record player when I was 13. Funny how I still remember it all these years later ( I'm in my 50s)!

I heard this tune so many times as a kid I can still remember it vividly more than sixty years hence.1956 was the year of the Suez crisis with petrol rationing following quite soon afterwards.

Am I the only one left who remembers it when it first came out? Radio Luxembourg Top 20 on Sunday evenings. Zambesi was in there for a long time. Like a fish out of water. But a great fish!

Yeah I knew this version first and was horrified when the Piranhas version was released, even though in the 80's I was my early 20's. I always loved older music

First record I ever bought. I had a choice of 45 rpm or 78 rpm. I chose 78, as it was bigger. I was only seven years old though.

To: ferrarial - I almost wore out "Zambezi" on my 45 record player back in the mid 50s! I also loved to hear the "B" side, "Rainbow's End". If you can up load this one, I would be eternally grateful. (Or, was it the "B" side of another Lou Busch record?)
