Inlakesh
Lou Rhodes Lyrics

As in love as me
And could another's eyes
Shine like yours
Lover and loved
A ruby in the sun
Heaven and earth
In'lakesh, In'lakesh, In'lakesh
In'lakesh, In'lakesh, In'lakesh
Moon on the water
Stillness in my mind
That's what I find
With your love in me, oh
In every breath I take
Each thing I see
You are there with me, tenderly
In'lakesh, In'lakesh, In'lakesh
In'lakesh, In'lakesh, In'lakesh...
Could anyone be
As in love as me
(no, no, no...)
And could another's eyes
Shine like yours
Lou Rhodes's song Inlakesh is a beautiful ode to the power of love and connection. The lyrics express the enormity of the singer's love for their partner, wondering if anyone else could possibly be as in love as they are, or if anyone else's eyes could shine as brightly as their lover's. The lines "Lover and loved, a ruby in the sun / Heaven and earth, join as one" evoke an image of intense passion and unity, where the two lovers are so entwined that they become one.
The chorus of the song, "In'lakesh, In'lakesh, In'lakesh" is a beautiful expression of the Mayan language, meaning "I am another yourself." This phrase is representative of the interconnectedness of all things, and the deep spiritual bond that the singer feels with their partner. It's a reminder that the love they share is not just between two individuals, but a reflection of the way in which all humans are connected.
The verses continue to express the all-encompassing nature of the singer's love for their partner. The image of the moon on the water and the stillness in the singer's mind represents the sense of peace and calmness that the singer experiences when they are with their partner. In every breath they take and everything they see, their lover is there with them, tenderly guiding them through life.
