Trouble

A spider web is tangled up with me
And I lost my head
The thought of all the stupid things I've said
Oh no what's this?
A spider web, and I'm caught in the middle
So I turn to run
The thought of all the stupid things I've done
And I never meant to cause you trouble
And I never meant to do you wrong
And I, well if I ever caused you trouble
Oh no, I never meant to do you harm
Oh no I see
A spider web and it's me in the middle
So I twist and turn
Here am I in my little bubble
Singing, I never meant to cause you trouble
And I never meant to do you wrong
And I, well if I ever caused you trouble
Although I never meant to do you harm
They spun a web for me x3
The lyrics to Louis Delort's song "Trouble" depict a sense of being trapped, both physically and emotionally. The singer compares their situation to being caught in a spider web and being unable to escape. They feel regret for the mistakes they've made and the hurt they may have caused others. The use of the spider web imagery acts as a symbol for how the singer is feeling, as the web is enticing and beautiful, but ultimately traps and ensnares.
The first verse sets the tone for the song, as the singer realizes they are caught in a spider web and feels helpless to escape. The second verse focuses on the singer's regrets and the weight of their past actions. The chorus acts as a confession, as the singer admits they never meant to cause any trouble or harm, expressing remorse for any hurt they may have caused. The final verse returns to the spider web imagery, emphasizing the feeling of being trapped and isolated.
Overall, the lyrics of "Trouble" provide a powerful expression of regret and remorse, using the spider web as an effective metaphor for the entangling web of regret and guilt. Through the use of vivid imagery and honest confession, Louis Delort's song is a haunting yet powerful depiction of the complexity of human emotion and its ability to ensnare us.
