While earning many rave reviews from the blogging community for their blend of art punk and indie rock, the band released several singles, one of which made single of the week in NME. The singles were collected on the debut LP Nine Times That Same Song, released by New York-based What's Your Rupture? in late 2005. After much touring through 2006 and 2007, Eriksson left the band and Love Is All continued on as a quartet. A Hundred Things Keep Me Up at Night and the remix album Love Is All Mixed Up arrived in 2008, along with Eriksson's replacement Åke Strömer (saxophone, keyboards). They are currently signed to the New York-based indie label What's Your Rupture?.

03- Turn The Radio Off
Love Is All Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Its squeezing shape
I guess I know you feel just fine
And another day is squeezing shut
And I guess I know you feel just fine
?
You give me way
And I pull the covers down
And I feel so shut out
I turn the radio off
Hey world I've had enough
And now I pull the covers down
I get all I need
And so much more
Stay out late for something more
I get all I need and so much more
Stay out late for something more
A mobile phone
Just let it ring
Cause friends they don't mean, mean a thing
And I pull the covers down
And I feel so shut out
I turn the radio off
Hey world I've had enough
And now I pull the covers down
And I feel so shut out
I turn the radio off
Hey listen world I've had enough!
Hey listen world I've had enough!
Hey listen world I've had enough!
Hey listen world I've, I've had enough!
The lyrics to "Turn The Radio Off" by Love Is All depict the feeling of being overwhelmed and wanting to shut off from the world. The opening lines suggest that the day is closing in, with its squeezing shape implying a sense of constriction or pressure. The singer acknowledges that the person they are addressing in the song is feeling fine, but they themselves are shutting down. They are given an excuse to stay in bed, and they retreat further into this space. The radio becomes a source of irritation rather than entertainment, and they decide to turn it off completely.
The second verse sees the singer acknowledging their own self-sufficiency. They have all that they need and more, and they are willing to stay out late, seeking something more than the mundanity of everyday life. The onomatopoeic ringing of the mobile phone is just another intrusion into their desire for solitude, and the dismissive line "friends they don't mean, mean a thing" suggests a lack of interest in socializing.
The repetition of the line "and I pull the covers down" emphasizes the retreat from the world, while the final lines "Hey listen world I've had enough!" form a defiant statement. The singer has reached a breaking point and is no longer willing to engage with the world around them.
Overall, "Turn The Radio Off" is a song about feeling overwhelmed and needing to shut out the world. It is an anthem for anyone who has ever felt the need to retreat into solitude and take a break from the constant noise and pressure of the modern world.
