Lucky Ones
Loverboy Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Don't ask me how, but guess who hit the big time
Don't look now but guess whose back in town
It's so easy don't even have to try
You're the winner you can take the prize

It's a dream come true which one will it be
It's a dream come true we'll just wait and see
Only the lucky one's get to steal the show
Only the lucky one's really get to know
Only the lucky, Only the lucky one's get Lucky

Same old story something never change
With a beautiful girl everything's rearranged
Your whole life it comes to you for free
You wear it well it comes so naturally

It's a dream come true which one will it be
It's a dream come true we'll just wait and see

Only the lucky one's get to steal the show
Only the lucky one's really get to know
Only the lucky, Only the lucky one's

Don't ask me how, but guess who hit the big time
Don't look now but guess whose back in town
It comes so easy don't even have to try
You're the winner you can take the prize

Lucky ones
Only the lucky one's really get to know

Only the lucky, Only the lucky one's
Oh lucky

I played the hell outta this album back in the day. I was a crazy teenager full of fire. I was invincible but now I'm 54 and falling apart. I want to rock out sometimes but I usually end up spraining something in the process. 😂

Class of '85 here (high school)! Yeah, these guys had some of the most rocking tunes, especially around 8th or 9th grade or so. This song, and also Working for the Weekend, and some Rush and Triumph songs, of course, were my bread and butter. I used to listen to this stuff on my super-cool Aiwa Walkman, while running miles and miles to train for the track team. Good times!! Now, of course, my knees and back are always giving me crap, so the running needs to be toned down a bit, but I can still listen to these songs.

Loverboy is one of the tightest bands I've ever heard.  Great lead/rhythm guitar, bass guitar, and drums, plus Reno vocals pulls it all together.  Matt Frenette is definitely underrated as drummer.  This and Working For The Weekend are outstanding songs.

Timothy Nuzzi

That drummer had a great stage presence! Love this band and most classic rock! I'm a classic at 60 yrs. old!!🙏🙏😂🎸🎸
