We sing observational songs about everyday life; why do ‘Kraft’ cream cheese spell ‘Kraft’ with a ‘K’? Its just not right.
Why does the white deodorant lines on my black dress always attract the wrong sort of men? If you often ask questions like these, then come watch us play.
We’ll buy you a tin of malt for tasty milkshakes, or a beige turtle neck pant suit. It’s your call. You’ve got nothing to lose, except 300 bucks, your mobile phone and most of your self dignity.
Mainly based in the hills of Madrid, Lua spend their waking hours making solar system sculptures with nothing but a hot glue gun and twine. We sometimes write songs, but their always so horrible that we sing them into a small glass jar and float them out to sea where only the fishies will be disturbed by the gut wrenchingly atrocious sound we make.
But as Kurt Cobain once said, ‘fish feel no pain’, so better them than you, right? So why all this? Well our main goals as a band are clear and set out in front of us.
We WILL see Posh Beckham with her kit off, braid the hair of an unknown layabout, make carbonara for a large gaggle of Australian figbirds and one day, maybe, just maybe, capture a repressed minority group, strip them of all their worldly possessions, have our way with the women, kill the men, and make the children make impossibly tiny furniture for the mansion we’re making for G.I Joe and Polly Pocket to live in. Look out.

Partes de mi
Lua Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴
el tiempo se calma,
el sol vuelve a salir.
Dudo si guardar bufandas
de inviernos pasados
por los que están por venir.
Voy rompiendo las sábanas
que aprisionan camas
Y desnudo mi alma:
ahora que hace frío
también quiere salir.
Voy sacudiendo mandatos
escritos en mi relato
y que yo no elegí.
Me cuesta ser sincera;
cuando me siento vulnerable
el miedo habla por mí.
Quiero ver castillos de barro
que se llevan las olas
cuando el viento sacude al mar.
Y trazar los surcos que yo quiera
con mi cuerpo en la arena
descubriendo partes de mí.
The lyrics of Lúa's song "Partes de mi" beautifully convey the transition from winter to spring and the introspective journey of self-discovery. In the first stanza, the arrival of April after the cold winter is portrayed as a time of calming and the return of the sun. The singer reflects on whether to put away the scarves from past winters in anticipation of the ones to come, symbolizing a contemplation of letting go of the old to make room for the new.
As the song progresses, the singer describes breaking free from the constraints of past habits and societal expectations. The act of tearing the bed sheets that confine the beds, which force a choice between different paths, represents a sense of liberation and self-assertion. The line "Y desnudo mi alma: ahora que hace frío también quiere salir" beautifully captures the vulnerability and desire for authenticity that arises when faced with coldness, both literally and metaphorically.
The struggle to be honest with oneself is highlighted in the lyrics, as the singer admits difficulty in being sincere when feeling vulnerable. The fear that takes over in moments of weakness is depicted as a barrier to self-expression and growth. The imagery of wanting to see castles of sand washed away by the waves and mapping out new paths on the beach with one's body signifies a yearning for change and self-exploration.
Ultimately, the chorus of the song celebrates the process of unveiling different aspects of oneself through metaphorical actions like shaking off imposed rules and carving out personal paths. The singer expresses a desire to discover new dimensions of their identity and embrace vulnerability as a source of strength. The lyrics of "Partes de mi" encapsulate a journey towards self-acceptance and empowerment amidst the changing seasons of life.
