Who Needs Tears
Luke Walton Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

The clouds speak, but we don’t hear,
We’ve forgotten how.
Worlds seem to disappear,
Childhood ends now.

I’m finally losing my mind,
Finally one of them.
Who needs tears,
When you can be blind?

The world was a happy place,
Filled with honey love.
But now I have to put on a face,
And fake that life’s not rough.

I’m finally losing my mind,
Finally one of them.
Who needs tears,
When you can be blind?

They think we’re acting dumb,
At least we’re expressing something.
I don’t wanna do what’s been done.

I’ve had the realization:

I’m finally losing my mind,
Finally one of them.
Who needs tears,
When you can be blind?

Who needs tears,
When you can be blind?

Overall Meaning

Luke Walton's song "Who Needs Tears" speaks to the loss of innocence and the difficulty in facing the harsh realities of the world. The first lines, "The clouds speak, but we don’t hear, We’ve forgotten how" set the tone for the entire song. It speaks to the idea that as we grow older, we become more disconnected from the simpler things in life. We forget to stop and listen and appreciate the world around us. The line "Worlds seem to disappear, Childhood ends now" further emphasizes this by saying that as we get older, we lose something that we can never get back.

The chorus of the song, "Who needs tears, When you can be blind?" is a commentary on our tendency to shut out the pain and suffering in the world by simply turning a blind eye. This is a common coping mechanism for many people, but the song suggests that it may not be the healthiest approach in the long run. The line "They think we’re acting dumb, At least we’re expressing something. I don’t wanna do what’s been done" implies that even though society may view this as a form of ignorance, it is a way to cope and express something genuine.

The final lines of the song, "I’m finally losing my mind, Finally one of them. Who needs tears, When you can be blind?" suggests that when we face the harsh realities of the world, it can take a toll on our mental health. This is a common feeling for many people, but it also speaks to the idea that sometimes it is easier to turn a blind eye than to face the truth.

Overall, Luke Walton's "Who Needs Tears" is a powerful commentary on the human experience and the difficulty in facing the harsh realities of the world. It speaks to the loss of innocence and the coping mechanisms that we use to shield ourselves from pain.

I believe Steve Kirr is an average coach.
He just happened to coach special players.

@tuggxs7637

Or he was a 3pt specialist and so happened to coach players that were also 3pt specialist

Could be.
He is very smart, though.
He rejected the Nicks coaching offer prior to the GSW offer.
Also, he was brand new when start coaching GSW. With experience he could end up better than Phil Jackson.
