The original line-up was expanded with the addition of guitarist Sean Eden for their second album, 1994's Bewitched. Lee Wall replaced Demeski on drums in time for 1997's Pup Tent, and Britta Phillips of The Belltower (also known as the singing voice of animated character Jem) joined when bassist Justin Harwood departed in 2000. They played their final concert at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City on February 28, 2005. Phillips and Wareham became romantically involved and eventually married in 2007. After reforming for tour dates in 2015 and 2016, Luna announced plans for two new recordings to be released in 2017.

Formed on the ashes of the new wave band La Strada and getting the name by the Bernardo Bertolucci film La Luna, Luna quickly gained the public's attention and established a cult status. Owing to Marko Brecelj, a former Buldožer member, who had approached them after a performance in Rijeka, Zoran Bulatović "Bale" (guitar), Slobodan Tišma (vocals), Ivan Fece "Firchie" (drums) and Jasmina Mitrušić "Mina" (keyboards, vocals) got the opportunity to release their debut album. Indian Summer
Luna Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Boy tastin' wild cherry
Touch girl, apple blossom
Just a boy playin' possum
We'll come back for Indian Summer
We'll come back for Indian Summer
We'll come back for Indian Summer
And go our separate ways
Rain fallin' on the ground
We'll wear a jolly crown
Buckle up, we're wayward bound
We'll come back for Indian Summer
We'll come back for Indian Summer
We'll come back for Indian Summer
And go our separate ways
Motorbike to cemetery
Picnic on wild berries
French toast with molasses
Croquet and Baked Alaskas
We'll come back for Indian Summer
We'll come back for Indian Summer
We'll come back for Indian Summer
And go our separate ways
Cover me with rain
Walk me down the lane
I'll drink from your drain
We will never change
No matter what they say
The lyrics to the song Indian Summer by Luna depict a carefree and whimsical time in the singer's life. The song begins with the line 'Breakfast in the cemetery' which sets the tone for the rest of the song. The line is juxtaposed with the next line 'Boy tastin' wild cherry' which suggests a sense of adventure and excitement that is prevalent throughout the song. The next line 'Touch girl, apple blossom' suggests a romantic relationship between the singer and a girl they are with. The line that follows 'Just a boy playin' possum' suggests that the singer is not taking life too seriously and is enjoying the moment.
The chorus of the song repeats 'We'll come back for Indian Summer' which is a metaphor for returning to the carefree and joyful time in their life. This is emphasized by the line 'And go our separate ways' which suggests that they know that this time is fleeting and they will eventually have to move on. The second verse continues with the same sense of adventure and excitement with lines such as 'Motorbike to cemetery', 'Picnic on wild berries', 'French toast with molasses', and 'Croquet and Baked Alaskas'. The imagery used in the song creates a sense of nostalgia for an idyllic time that the singer wants to return to. The song ends with the line 'No matter what they say' which suggests that the singer is determined to hold on to this memory and not let anyone take it away from them.
