I Never Learn
Lykke Li Lyrics

Where the tears melt ice
In a sea of guilt
By the fallen stars
Lonely chimes, sing of pain
There's a storm, only love remains
I been stung by a star seed honey
I been hit by a star seed honey
His love burns like a lightning honey
I'm right here I'm your star crossed lover
I lie here like a starless lover
I'll die here as your phantom lover
I never learn
I never learn
The lyrics of "I Never Learn" by Lykke Li express the feelings of despair and powerlessness that come with constantly falling in love and getting hurt. The song's title itself highlights how the singer never seems to learn from past mistakes and keeps on falling into the same patterns of hurt and heartbreak. The first stanza paints a vivid picture of a desolate, icy landscape where only love can survive amidst the pain and guilt. The fallen stars represent lost hopes and dreams, the lonely chimes evoke a sense of mournful longing, and the storm symbolizes the tumultuous emotions of love.
The second stanza provides more personal details and reflects the singer's experience of being in love. The star seed honey alludes to a cosmic force that has brought the two lovers together, with the lightning honey representing the intense and destructive power of their love. The star-crossed lover and starless lover images further highlight the singer's feelings of being at the mercy of fate and being unable to escape the pain of unrequited love. Ultimately, the song's refrain "I never learn" underscores the cyclical nature of love and how even the most painful experiences cannot dissuade us from seeking love again.

I feel that way about Lana del Rey's Ultraviolence, and I can see why people would feel that way about this album. I really love this song.
