This was one of the few videos that I kept thinking about from time to time, and I think I finally understood it. The flies represent not caring about things other than the teeth, what the narrator could say was "power". When he made the perfect set of teeth and utilized them, he lost the tip of his tongue because it was way too much "power". He was blinded by desire and dream, and when he finally attained it, his life quest completed, it was too much for him. Unneeded and uncaring. And he paid the price for it.

Amazing deduction man, but mind if I add a little something? I wanted to take up on your idea of the "flies representing the carelessness of everything else than the teeth". That (after thorough analysis) reminded me of how people develop addictions (e.g. when people forget about their finances, family, etc. but focus on drugs, temptation, sex and what not). In this case we have the "desire for the perfect teeth, the teeth that no food could match". That man lived all his life following that one and only disire but forgot about the thing that was with him from the start till the end: his tongue. The tongue he had before been taken for granted, though he admired using it to feel the smoothness of his gums when he had been a child.
TL;DR: This video for me presents how in the goal to reach your most valuable dream you take for granted the thing that had before given you utmost pleasure.

Honestly this makes me think of OCD. I have been diagnosed with severe OCD ever since I was a child and this feels like an artistic way to display what OCD can FEEL like sometimes. Obviously insane things like this are not happening but they may be happening in our uncontrollable minds. Feeling like parts of your body don't belong and doing anything in your power to get rid of them. An obsession that I describe as "rounding" myself, to feel the sensation of smoothness around my body. Bumps, blemishes and protrusions don't belong.
I hate my acne, especially on my back. Impulsively reaching behind myself and picking at the bumps until they come loose. There's also the skin on my fingertips and around my fingernails. I love taking nail clippers and cutting them off, it's so gratifying seeing the chunks of skin having been shed (forcefully or not) without doing significant damage. I honestly don't consider it self harm because it doesn't hurt, at most it leaves calluses. Sometimes I wish my skin was made of a flexible glass or plastic that is completely smooth and I can run my hands down it, that would be sensory heaven.
In this guy's case, the teeth are in the way, and I understand it completely.

It's just one section of the LGBT, the T for Trans people, that would think that they need to do this in order for them to be officially considered Trans. Any other sections than the Trans section would no longer need them to mutilate their bodies just for that, it's all just their preference in who they are attracted in and what they feel and identify with.

If you want a more serious version of this, why not take into consideration people who cut their foreskins and those who do plastic surgery? I have nothing against them, I just think these would be suitable for an argument because Trans people are only a minority (thus won't be covered as much by the media unless you watch news about them) and it would pose as a greater threat to children's mentality if they think that getting plastic surgery would finally let them be that perfect form.

@Female deku I'm sorry for my poor English actually it's my second language to learn after being born in this world so I may not be as good in it as my mother tongue but I'm constantly trying to improve, anyways what I was trying to say in the earlier comment of mine was that in the end of this specific video when the main character's tongue got cut off the video ended hence kinda stating the fact that he may not be able to narrate the story anymore since obviously his tongue got cut off, hopefully if u read all of this without getting a stroke I hope my english improved thank you for reading, if u still found it difficult to read please correct me and I'll practice my english here itself :D

I enjoyed this a lot. Wouldn’t recommend for someone under 13.

Watched again in 2023 and my opinion's changed. I like how the old man spent ages designing a gum that he'd think is perfect, to find out his new teeth straight up slaughtered and utterly defeated his tongue.

Perfect narrator, great sound effects and story as well as design all combined gave me a experience that I enjoyed but disgusted me at the same time a true feeling of horror when you hate or fear what you see but can't look away

I love the beautiful insight of the story. People can't appreciate their own beauty unless loses it all and then tries to rejuvenate themselves but only at a price of another loss, the loss of the ability to taste the flavours of a natural life.

Everythin here looks so uncomfortable from the tip of the tongue, the dead flies, the environment, the obsession with teeth (the protagonists seems to not have surpassed the oral phase) to the ordinary reality of how a obsession mixed with some mental problems, I LOVE IT. Congratulations, it's superb and truly horrific!

IMO I don’t find this horror or disturbing but quite satisfying, as an artist I enjoy the quality or animation the subtle changes of line quality and the shading with bright colors, great references as masterpiece!

On his 75th year, the transplant was complete, but it had an unexpected side-effect. The flavors he remembered; that once sweet, sugary delight, now caused a taste so vile he retched at the very sight of pastries and candies. Vegetables were bitter, more so than usual, as if chewing on a bullet casing. Fruits were busy, like an explosion in his mouth that he couldn't explain and didn't enjoy. Bread was practically flavorless, yet at the same time the texture irritated the inside of his mouth. Nothing seemed edible.

But blood ... that was a whole new sensation. No longer tart or metallic, like one would assume, but rather rich and decadent. Cooking any meat, if even to rare, spoiled the succulent, satisfying slake he got from eating it raw. It was out of the question -- he could no longer deny himself. Raw. It had to be raw, and fresh.

The fresher the better.
