Control Me
M. Johnson Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

This Fear Won't Control Me
I started out in pain
My skin washed by the rain
Lost my faith, traded God for work
Now the work, it never ends
And I've been losing all my friends
And the pain I started with still somewhere lurks
Now I've got to get myself back
To where I went astray
There's no point in regretting
But I do it anyway

This fear won't control me
This fear won't control me
This fear won't control me, control me today

Goddamn that broken spell
That's been making our lives hell
And poisoning the well of imagination
They want to rank our lives
Make us sharpen all our knives
We've gotta root out all the lies that built the nation

Now we've got to get ourselves back
To where we went astray
If you're ever frightened
All you've got to say is

This fear won't control me

This fear won't control me
This fear won't control me, control me today

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to M. Johnson's song "Control Me" delve into themes of personal growth, resilience, and the recognition of fear as a force that should not dictate one's actions or choices. The song begins with the singer reflecting on a past filled with pain and a loss of faith. It conveys a sense of being consumed by work and the subsequent isolation that comes with it. The pain that the singer started with still lingers in their life, indicating that they haven't fully overcome the negative experiences.

However, the lyrics also express a determination to reclaim their life and regain control. The singer acknowledges the need to find their way back to where they went astray, implying a desire to reconnect with their true self. They recognize that there is no benefit in regretting past decisions, yet they still find themselves doing so. This highlights the complexity of personal growth and the constant struggles one may face while trying to overcome obstacles.

The second half of the song shifts focus to external factors that contribute to fear and negativity. The broken spell mentioned represents societal or systemic issues that plague individuals' lives and poison their imagination. It hints at the idea that external forces influence one's fear, reinforcing the idea that fear should not define or control one's actions. The lyrics then encourage a collective effort to dismantle the lies and falsehoods that have formed the foundations of society.

Overall, "Control Me" is an introspective song that explores the journey of overcoming fear and reclaiming one's agency. It emphasizes the need to confront and defy the fear that often holds individuals back from personal growth and fulfillment.

Thank you for your time and effort you are putting to make those videos. I found it very helpful and valuable to me. It would be very cool if you can show us how to make schedule based on the run-time (lead lag chillers for example). thanks again.

I love this video, your programs look a little easier to navigate vs tgp and tgp2. I like that you can see what controls the outputs so easily. It would definitely help the troubleshooting process.

System Control Tech

It was harder on older versions but newer versions of the software make it easier.

Nice to see you back with some CCT info. To Joseph, incremental output is a binary output thats is just a open/close, on/off type of output that varies the time that is is on to control the valve, proportional is a analog output to varies from 4-20ma or 0-10 volts to control a proportional type actuator.
