M.Rösner is a sound artist from rural Western Australia. Being based in secluded isolation has allowed Rösner to pursue an organic take on electronic music, using acoustic instruments and field recordings as the sound source in the majority of his works. Yet Rösner is still firmly entrenched in the technological age, his work as an industrial designer allows the influence of architecture, physics and modernism to creep into his sound world. M.Rösner has released records on room40, Apestaartje, 12x50, Meupe and miatera alongside various compilation releases on Australian and International labels.
In the live arena, M.Rösner has played across Australia supporting Taylor Deupree, Sebastien Roux, Leafcutter John, Greg Davis, Triosk, Pimmon, Tony Buck, Pita, Dave Miller, Lawrence English, ii, Tujiko Noriko, Inchtime, sanso-xtro, DJ Olive and IO/3.
From 2002 to 2005 Rösner performed under the Pablo Dali moniker. The Pablo Dali project was more beat oriented, yet retained the organic focus. At the end of 2005 Rösner decided to concentrate on producing more abstract works, abandoning beats in preference to a more experimental approach to composition.

Field
M. Rösner Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Dream of a living jungle in my way back home when we die.
West of the fields.
West of the fields.
West of the fields.
West of the fields.
Long gone, long gone, long gone, long gone.
Dreams of Elysian to assume are gone when we try
Tell now what is dreaming
When we try to listen with your eyes oversimplify
The animals how strange.
Try try to stick it in.
The animals, how strange.
Try, try to stick it in.
Dreams of Elysian, to assume are gone when we try
Tell now what is dreaming when we try.
Listen through your eyes when we die.
West of the fields.
West of the fields.
West of the fields.
West of the fields.
Long gone, long gone, long gone, long gone.
West of the fields.
The lyrics of M. Rösner's song "Field" explore themes of intuition, the afterlife, and animal behavior. The opening lines suggest that intuition is no longer reliable, indicating a shift in perspective from a more instinctive way of being to one that is more conscious and aware. The dream of a living jungle suggests a desire to reconnect with nature or a more primal state of existence. The repetition of "West of the fields" reinforces this idea of being on the edge of civilization, perhaps searching for a way back to a more natural way of living.
The second verse continues the theme of lost intuition and the search for a deeper understanding. The mention of Elysium, a realm of paradise in Greek mythology, suggests a yearning for a kind of heavenly state, but the lyrics caution against oversimplification. The imagery of animals behaving strangely invites reflection on human behavior and our relationship to the natural world. The repetition of "try to stick it in" is a cryptic line that could be interpreted in many ways, but it creates a sense of unease and urgency.
Overall, the lyrics of "Field" are poetic and enigmatic, leaving much to interpretation. The song seems to be exploring themes of human nature, our relationship to the natural world, and the search for deeper meaning and understanding.
