(Helpless Rain)

In the lyrics to Mika's song "Rain," the singer speaks about feeling trapped and unfulfilled in their current situation. They express their frustration with the routine and the feeling of being ordinary that they find suffocating. The singer blames the person they are speaking to for this feeling of being stuck, stating that they have turned him into something new and broken his ordinary mind.
The singer is ready for more than this and hates days like this, where it rains and pours down on them. They cannot look back and are caught in a trap, but they also acknowledge that they cannot blame the person they are speaking to for everything. They have been using this person as a way to hide away from their true feelings and responsibilities.
Overall, "Rain" is a song about feeling stuck in a place and mindset that is unsatisfying. The singer recognizes that they need more from life and are ready to move on, even if it is difficult to do so. They blame the person they are speaking to for their feeling of being trapped, but they also acknowledge that they are responsible for their own happiness.

Is it really necessary
Do you really need to do this?
Every single day
You do it every day.
You're making me more ordinary
You're making me less special.
In every possible way
In every aspect of my being.
This ordinary mind is broken
My normal mindset is shattered.
You did it and you don't even know
You caused it without even realizing.
You're leaving me with words unspoken
You're leaving me with things I never said to you.
You better get back 'cause I'm ready for
You should come back because I'm ready to face whatever's coming.
More than this
I want more than what we have now.
Whatever it is
I don't even know what I want, but I want more.
Baby, I hate days like this
I dislike days like today.

I cannot look back
I can't dwell on the past.

Thought you found the man you wanted
You thought you found the perfect guy.
Til you turn him into something new
Until you changed him into something he's not.
Well even if our minds are broken
Even if we're both broken.
There's something that I need you to know
I need you to know something important.
It's nothing like the life we wanted
This isn't the life we imagined.
You better move on
You need to let go and move on.
Cuz I'm ready for
Because I'm ready to face whatever is next.
(Spoken) I'm not angry
I'm not upset.
Don't know what to do

After all the years that I spent with you
After all the time we spent together.
I can't blame you for the things you say
I can't hold you accountable for your words.
I was using you just to hide away
I was using you to avoid facing my problems.
When it rain and rain and rain and rains
When it pours and it doesn't stop.
