1. María 'Malú' Lucía Sánchez (born 15 March, 1982) is a singer from Madrid, Spain. Malú was discovered at the age of 15 when she was singing at a family party. She began the recording of her first album Aprendiz in January 1998. Malú is the niece of the flamenco singer-songwriter Paco de Lucía.
2. Malu is a pop singer from Amsterdam, The Netherlands. There is no accent on the letter 'u', but scrobbles of her songs end up here due to Last.fm's infamous auto-correct. "Sensual vocals, soft synthesizers and danceable bass lines bring you into a summery state of mind (...) one moment in a fantasy, the next on the dance floor." Malu released her first brace of singles and the Rendez-vous EP on Excelsior Recordings in 2023.
3. MALU In her honest universe of pop melodies, soulful tunes and R&B sensations, MALU is singing her way out of her identity crisis, through stories of dreams, heartaches and insecurities. With her Corsican roots, she inherited her grand gestures and in a flirtation between organic elements, attitude and with her heart on her sleeve, she delivers her songs in a balance between contemporariness and nostalgia.
Behind the project is a showdown with her own perfectionism and expectations: ”I have always been busy living up to an idea of who I am supposed to be. Through music I become spontaneous. Here, I can flirt with my identity crisis, set my own boundaries, make fun of my own perfectionistic ego and sing myself to become who I want to be.”
When MALU was five years old, two movers coincidently came by her childhood home, in Denmark, with a piano, they were supposed to get rid of. She was immediately glued to it, and from there the train began rolling. The journey started as a classical pianist and led her to lead singer in a jazz trio, a disco band and a soul orchestra, with concerts around the country and the feeling of belonging on a stage from a very early age.

"Dicen por ahí" is a song by Spanish singer Malú that expresses the societal pressure and gossip that comes with celebrity status. The lyrics showcase Malú's frustration with the rumors and lies being spread about her, especially regarding her love life, emotions, and personality. She addresses the people who talk about her, telling them to mind their own business and stop spreading negativity. Malú also reflects on her humble beginnings, growing up in a house where they faced challenges like floods, but she remained happy playing as a child.
The first verse of the song talks about Malú's love life and how people view her as vulnerable and easy to manipulate. The use of the metaphor "carne de cañon" (cannon fodder) emphasizes how her emotions are seen as expendable and can be used for others' entertainment or gain. The second verse delves into how people perceive her emotions, with Malú being seen as "triste" (sad) even when the sun is shining. The lines "Pues quien quiera saber/ Primero que saque el graduado" (Whoever wants to know/ First should graduate) also showcase Malú's disdain for uneducated opinions and the idea that people should focus on themselves before judging others.
The chorus features the lines "Pero ahora vivo dentro del temible escaparate/ Y tengo que aguantar sin anestesia los ataques/ Y aguantare lo que me echen/ Pues así llegue a nacer" (But now I live inside the fearsome display case/ And I have to endure the attacks without anaesthesia/ And I'll endure whatever is thrown at me/ Because that's how I was born). These lyrics express Malú's feeling of imprisonment within the harsh world of celebrity and how she has to deal with negative criticism constantly, even without any form of numbing herself to it. The final verse highlights Malú's roots and how she comes from a humble background where life was not always easy, but she remained happy and content with her simple pleasures.
