Once was a time I thought that love could be sold or bought
At one point, I believed that love was a commodity that could be traded or purchased, and this misguided belief led me to believe that all of my relationships would fall easily into place.

And everything fell in place for me.
I thought that because I believed that love could be bought, I would have no trouble finding it and having all the pieces of my life fit together easily.

The fashion of passion I rationed with caution
I was careful to limit my emotional investment in past relationships because I didn't want to become too attached to someone who might not reciprocate my feelings.

Because of the notion the potion of passion had never been passed to me.
I believed that I had never experienced real, deep love, and that the feeling of being in love was forever beyond my grasp.

But since it was Sunday and sunny I went for a stroll.
On a bright and beautiful Sunday, I decided to take a walk and enjoy the day.

But peanuts and pigeons and people put me in a hole.

All of the negative thoughts and feelings that had been weighing me down were instantly lifted by your presence.

I used to think that love was something I could purchase or trade for, believing that it was an easy feeling to come by.

And everything fell in place for me.
Because of this, I assumed that everything would naturally align for me, without the need for hard work or real connection.

The fashion of passion I rationed with caution
I was careful and guarded with my emotions, not wanting to get too attached to someone I wasn't sure would feel the same way.

Because of the notion the potion of passion had never been passed to me.
I had convinced myself that real love would never come my way, and that that was just my lot in life.

But now that you're by my side,
But now that I have you in my life, all of those negative thoughts and beliefs have been dispelled.

I find that I feel so satisfied,
Instead, I feel fulfilled and complete in a way that I never have before.

Somebody must have lied to me.
All of my previous beliefs and misconceptions about love now seem like falsehoods, and I'm grateful to have been proven wrong.
