Manny Manuel was born on the mountain town of Orocovis, Puerto Rico. He studied elementary and high school in the José Rojas Cortés School at his hometown. Since a young age, he started presenting himself in talent shows and other musical activities. He later joined the group Tempo Merenguero, and subsequently became a vocalist and choreographer for the merengue duo of Mayra y Celinés.
After recording these two albums with Los Sabrosos del Merengue, Manuel decided to pursue a solo career. In June 1994, Manuel left the group and in October 1 of the same year debuted as a solo artist. Several months later, he released his first solo album titled Rey de Corazones. The album was certified platinum after a few weeks. With the success of the album, on November, 1995, Manuel presented himself at the Luis A. Ferré Performing Arts Center selling out six shows.
In 1996, he released his second album titled Auténtico followed by concerts at the Guaynabo Performing Arts Center and at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum. Manuel released his next album titled Es Mi Tiempo in 1998 which included the hits Como Duele, Margarita, and a cover of Alejandro Sanz' song Corazón Partío. The album took him on a tour through Spain where the album was certified gold. His next album, Lleno de Vida, preceded a second presentation at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum. This concert was recorded and later released on CD.
After a change of labels and a move to the United States, Manuel released the album Serenata in 2003, which included covers of traditional romantic songs. The album sold over 100,000 and Manuel followed it with yet another presentation at the Coliseum in 2004. For this album, he was also nominated for a Latin Grammy.
In 2007, he released another album, Tengo Tanto, which included fusions of merengue with other Caribbean rhythms like vallenato. Manuel was one of several artists selected to perform in "KQ Live Concert" on September 27, 2008, organized by KQ 105 FM, the event included several renowned artists from Puerto Rico and other Latin American locations

Manny Manuel Lyrics

Ay, ay, ay, ay, canta y no llores
The song "Se va se va" by Manny Manuel is a powerful testament to the pain and heartache that can come with losing love, but also the healing power of dancing and letting go. The lyrics express the idea that while it is natural to feel sadness when a relationship ends, it is important to keep moving forward and not dwell on the past. The song encourages the listener to put on their favorite clothes, go out into the world, and find happiness on the dance floor. The chorus repeats the phrase "se va" (it goes/leaves) to emphasize the idea that love can be fleeting, but that doesn't mean life is over. The verses provide a contrast to the chorus, with more thoughtful lyrics that explore the emotions of heartbreak and the difficulty of letting go.
The first verse acknowledges the pain of lost love, but urges the listener not to cry anymore because it won't change anything. The second verse suggests that those who live in the past and cling to memories will never find happiness in the present, and that the future holds hope for new experiences and love. The bridge reminds the listener that pain can be shared and lessened by being with others who understand, and that the act of singing can bring joy in even the darkest times. Overall, the song is a comforting reminder that life goes on, and that there is always the possibility of new love and happiness.

Sé cómo duelen las penas de amores
pero no llores pero no llores,
no ganas con seguir sufriendo
y padeciendo por los rincones,
ponte esa ropa que te gusta tanto
que ya la noche está comenzando,
y las penas de los corazones,
las penas sólo se quitan bailando.
I know how painful it is to suffer from love,
but don't cry, don't cry.
You don't win by continuing to suffer
and agonize in the corners.
Wear that clothing you like so much
because the night is already beginning,
and the aches of the heart,
the pain only goes away by dancing.
Se va, se va, se va, un amor
y nos parece que se va la vida,
se va, se va, se va un amor
y uno siente que el mundo termina,
yo te digo que es mentira,
yo te digo que es mentira,
yo te digo que es mentira,
yo te digo que es mentira.
Love is leaving,
and it seems like life is departing too.
Love is leaving,
and one feels like the world is ending,
but I tell you it's a lie,
I tell you it's a lie,
I tell you it's a lie,
I tell you it's a lie.
Pity those who live in the memory
and the nostalgia and the nostalgia,
because memories live in the past
and the future is hope,
go outside, take some fresh air,
because the dance still hasn't ended,
and when love causes pain,
it hurts less if someone comes to your side.
Se va, se va, se va un amor
se va, se va y queda el dolor
Love is leaving,
and it hurts as it goes.
You're leaving my side, but you'll find your way,
because I'm better off alone than with you.
Si tú te vas, no se va la vida
otro amor vendrá y curará mis heridas.
If you leave, life doesn't go with you,
another love will come and heal my wounds.
Ay, ay, ay, ay, canta y no llores
Ay, ay, ay, ay, sing and don't cry,
because singing makes the hearts happy, like “cielito lindo”.
Y esooooo, aqui no ha pasado nada
And that's it, nothing happened here.
