Aerials
Marcin Patrzałek Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Life is a waterfall
We're one in the river and one again after the fall
Swimming through the void we hear the word
We lose ourselves, but we find it all
'Cause we are the ones that wanna play
Always wanna go but you never wanna stay
And we are the ones that wanna choose
Always wanna play but you never wanna lose
Aerials in the sky
When you lose small mind you free your life
Life is a waterfall
We drink from the river then we turn around and put up our walls
Swimming through the void we hear the word
We lose ourselves, but we find it all
'Cause we are the ones that wanna play
Always wanna go but you never wanna stay
And we are the ones that wanna choose
Always wanna play, but you never wanna lose
Aerials in the sky
When you lose small mind you free your life
Aerials, so up high
When you free your eyes eternal prize
Aerials in the sky
When you lose small mind you free your life

Aerials, so up high
When you free your eyes eternal prize

Overall Meaning

In Marcin Patrzalek's song "Aerials," the lyrics convey a message about life being a journey with ups and downs like a waterfall. The first stanza refers to how we are all one in the river of life but eventually face falls or obstacles. During that time, we have to swim through the void and hear the word- possibly the word of reason, hope or wisdom- which helps us lose ourselves and find everything we're looking for. However, the chorus depicts the dichotomy of being someone who always wants to play and go but never wants to stay, someone who always wants to choose and play but never wants to lose.

The second verse delves deeper into the metaphor of drinking from the river of life and turning around to put up our walls. It explains how sometimes, we become so engrossed in the challenges that we start to separate ourselves from our surroundings. Once again, the chorus reiterates that we need to maintain a balance and focus on the bigger picture. The aerials in the sky can represent different things such as finding perspective, gaining a bird's eye view, or seeing beyond our limitations. The lyrics suggest that one can free their life by losing their small minds and achieving a new level of understanding. The final line allures to the eternal prize of wisdom, peace, and fulfillment that is attainable with that understanding.
