Although born in Germany, Vidal has lived most of his life in Spain. He speaks Spanish as his first language.
In 1990, at the age of 23, Marcos Vidal released his first studio album entitled "Buscadme y Viviréis".
In 1993 he released his second studio album, "Nada Especial", on the label Nuevos Medios; that along with the success of his first album, drew the singer to North and South America. This international recognition allowed Vidal to begin working with Sparrow Records, making Marcos Vidal the first Spanish Christian singer signed to an American Label. His first two albums "Buscadme y Viviréis" y "Nada Especial" were later re-released in the United States under Sparrow Records.
In 1996, "Cara a Cara", his first album under Sparrow Records, was released. It became one of the best selling Spanish Christian albums of all time, rapidly passing 100,000 albums sold. A year later, in 1997, Marcos Vidal released "Mi Regalo" and was nominated for his first Dove Award in the category of Best Spanish Language Album.
"Por La Vida", released in 1999, was a collection of his greatest hits from previous albums.
His next project "Pescador" (2002) emphasized his passion to share the Gospel with people of all nations and was centered around the theme of being a fisherman.
"Alabanza y Adoración en Vivo desde España" (2003), was Marcos Vidal's first live album, recorded in front of thousands of people. In it, he combined traditional congregational singing with more contemporary upbeat rhythms.
Marcos Vidal currently resides in Madrid and pastors the Evangelical Church of Salem, which has led since 1992. He also continues to compose and record music.
Aleluya
Marcos Vidal Lyrics

Y acertó de lleno porque eres dulce y buena,
Entre turbulencias tu llegada nos encontró,
Y viniste a traer sonrisas y amor...
Aleluya, aleluya,
La alegría nos visita, y es rubia,
Aleluya, aleluya,
Que acompañan tu jornada, y todas llevan marcas.
Somos muchos, no pierdas la calma,
Si Jesús está contigo hay esperanza,
Te sorprenderás y recordarás
Cuando todo sea puesto en la balanza...
Aleluya, aleluya,
Ya no llores niña, que no fue culpa tuya,
Aleluya, aleluya,
Y en los brazos del Maestro estás segura...
Aleluya...
The first few lines of "Aleluya" by Marcos Vidal speak of the singer's grandfather, who described the subject of the song as a "duende de trigo y miel," which translates to "a fairy of wheat and honey." This image serves as a metaphor for the subject's sweetness and goodness, which the singer affirms upon meeting her amidst a time of turbulence. The chorus expresses that this meeting has brought joy and allowed the singer to forget other troubles.
The second verse reveals that everything is not perfect for the subject, as she has had her armor stolen and bears bitterness and pain. The singer encourages her not to succumb to madness or dig through the trash for answers, but instead choose forgiveness and peace as a banner. He encourages her to open her sails again and find comfort in the guidance of the Master. He assures her that she is not alone, and that the presence of Jesus gives hope. The final chorus reassures the subject that she is not to blame for her struggles, and that in the arms of the Master, she is safe.
This song speaks to the human experience of facing difficult times, but also the hope and comfort that can be found in the presence of something greater than ourselves. It also emphasizes the importance of choosing forgiveness and peace over bitterness and anger in order to move forward.
